What a Crock!!! What a Blessing!!!

There was something that really irked me this morning: I was talking to some roommates of mine about business and how an effective salesman isn't really a salesman at all, but a servant to the public.

And I mean SERVANT not someone who acts like they care, just to make a buck.

OK, back to the story. We were talking, and he stated that there was a booth at a local B2B expo, for the company I have my business under. Knowing the mission statement of this company, what he said next absolutely ticked me off.

"Yeah, he had about 5 cute girls going up to guys to get their numbers. They weren't scantily clad, but he was pushing the expo's limits." These weren't women in his downline, who just happen to be attractive. They were being used to get prospects.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!! And what's worse, this is a guy in my upline!

Now I'm all about creative ways of marketing, but I'd argue that this is a reason why the integrity of the network marketing, direct sales, or MLM business has gotten bad press. Is making money really that important where we have to use sex to sell a potion, lotion, pre paid legal, or any other product? What would the founders of this company say if they found out?

I understand that this is a type of marketing, but if you were good at what you do, why would you need to do this?

By the way, if you're a woman, I love you. God has never made a creature on this Earth more beautiful than a woman. I love women so much that I decided to date one, but to use them as eye candy to sell a opportunity? Is that integrity?

OK, I've ticked off a lot of people, and will probably be called self-righteous, by people who don't even know what the term means.

Worry not, though...I'll get over it.

I do have one thing to end with. After doing my daily devotional, I read something that totally blessed me. It was out of Psalm 37:

"Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass...Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass."

When doing any kind of business in life, whether it's Sales, IT, MLM, or HR work, make true servanthood your goal in your work and you will be blessed with all the desires of your heart. Have a productive day.
