8 Weeks

It's been 8 weeks today since my Daddy passed away!

September 2, 2007 my Dad passed away.  It was the day before his and my mothers 41st wedding anniversary.  We had gone to Knoxville TN. for the weekend.  He hadn't been feeling well on Friday and insisted on Saturday that he would be well enough to go on our trip.  We did his last wish.

Isn't that what life is all about!  Living, Laughing and Loving with your friends and family up until the end.  Doing today what others won't so that tomorrow we can do what they can't.  I stated in my prior writing that I did not want to turn out like my mother.  I quit putting those thoughts out there and now it is time to start empowering women.  I use to hate the whole rah rah on women's rights and women working in a mans field of work.  While I agree that women can do anything and be anything being a miners daughter and a miners wife for 20 years, it is still a field I don't think women should be into.  Just my thoughts!

The reason I state that I have turned a new leaf upon empowering women is that the facts are my mother never working and relying on my Dad even with me telling her she can not always trust in him.  She needed something for herself.  When he died 8 weeks ago today, he left her with a $22,000 car payment and a $247,000 mortgage and other bills.  He left her with $32,000 in life insurance and $1,900 a month Social "in" Security.  The house payment alone is $1900.  We are all adults here!  She's only 65.  How far will $32,000 really get someone who is not savvy on investing, MLM's, owning her own business?  Could she really live the rest of her life?  Probably now.  Thank God I have been teaching her for 3-4 years now and she is understanding what she is going to have to do to live in a comfortable lifestyle.  It is up to us to empower our mothers!  It is up to help our fellow humans to show a path to a powerful life.

Pass it on!

Hi Lori

I'm sure many of us have stories like your family.

I have been 20 yrs in the insurance industry and have many people who were facing this very senario. Some could afford the protection required. Unfortunately many more could not.

And strangely many of the younger ones (pre 37 years old) didn't think it would / could happen to them.

Funny thing is ......
"There is a 100% chance you will not survive your life"

My sister recently passed on (Nov 07) in her sleep. At age 37 she had done more than most..... way to go sis. The reality check for me out of this for me is that life is so very very short and I should do and experience everything I wanted to now because you never know when your time is going to be up.

That's one of the great things about networking - we can give people access to an income stream and the time to spend it doing the things they want to now. Yeah I know thats deep and meaningful but more people should know what we really have on offer.

Thanks again for sharing

Kind Regards
Simon
