AMS Health Sciences

In the late 1940s, the Soviet government charged one of their top scientists, Dr. Israel Brekhman, with researching the reasons why people and animals from the Primorye Forest, a lush rainforest along the China-Russia border, had unusually long lifespans.  He found that by eating certain rare plants, which he called “adaptogens,” these people were able to adapt to stress and improve their health, athletic performance, and life expectancy.  For the next 45 years, Dr. Brekhman worked on developing a formula consisting of the rare plants he had studied.  Over 3,000 studies on 2,500 plants later, he isolated a formula over 3.5 times stronger than that found in the original plants. 

In 2001, AMS Health Sciences acquired the exclusive distribution rights of Dr. Brekhman’s formulas through the acquisition of Life Science Technologies, a company owned by former Home Shopping Network entrepreneur Roy Spears. 

AMS Health Sciences has over sixty products, consisting of dietary supplements, weight management products, and hair and skin care products, including Prime One, which they call “the world’s number-one all-natural stress reliever.” They depend upon a network of 7,000 independent distributors in Canada and the U.S. In 2008, they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, but have since restructured and become successful. AMS claims that its products are unique, giving its distributors a distinct marketing advantage because it makes them easy to talk about with prospective customers. AMS owns the sole worldwide distribution rights to Brekham’s Formula.
