Ray Faltinsky launched FreeLife in March 1995 with his friend, Kevin Fournier. The inspiration to create an organization that promotes a healthy mind, body and soul, in Kevin’s words, comes from watching his mother suffer from crippling osteoporosis. The idea began taking shape while Ray was attending Yale law school, where he completed his thesis on direct selling. He began studying the profiles of existing MLM companies, finding abundant opportunities in the nutritional supplements niche. FreeLife has experienced exponential growth and achieved many landmarks. The company is now operating in 26 countries worldwide and adding new products almost every week.
In April 2005, FreeLife reported approximately 150,000 active distributors and 185 in-house employees. By June 2006, there were 650 employees and about 600,000 distributors working in 26 countries. By February 2010, it estimated that there were over a million distributors selling the company products with Himalayan Gojio topping the list.
