iZigg claims to be building a mobile media community which will become a global network, enabling businesses and individuals alike to stay connected and informed through one of the world’s most familiar SMS shortcodes, 90210.
People who sign up will have a choice of ways to use the tool to aid them in their campaigns. iZigg notes that all campaigns are strictly opt-in, and that those who text 90210 plus the chosen keyword should not be spammed, and only be sent content directly related to the keyword. Those who transgress the rules will be banned from the iZigg community.
The company offers different plans for those interested in using their phone for network marketing and promotional campaigns.
iChannels is a collection of different news areas (e.g. ‘celeb’, ‘b’day’, ‘finance’) which users can subscribe to by texting 90210 and the subject area of interest, such as ‘celeb’. The company then sends a daily SMS with information on that subject.
The mCard allows companies and people to share information or even promotions through SMS. Messages can be branded, which the company says means that an mCard could easily double as a virtual business card, thus making it good for the environment.
iConnect is touted as being extremely useful for businesses, allowing companies to send thousands of messages per month (depending on which iConnect plan is purchased) to customers. The company suggests that one use would be to send people a SMS as soon as they walk through company doors.
