Le Gourmet Gift Basket, Inc. opened in 1992 selling gift baskets to suit all occasions. By 1994 the company decided that a direct sales force would be the best way to improve the company’s profitability.

There are five different levels of membership, each with differing compensation plans. The company notes that just one corporate account could easily pay a living salary for a year, and that almost everyone needs a gift basket at some time, making the gift basket business a good one to get into – a fact also noted by Entrepreneur magazine.

The company offers two different options. The first is that new distributors utilize company DVDs and training materials provided to teach themselves. The second is that they visit the company’s headquarters in Chicago and enjoy a personal trip around the facility as well as receive training.

Currently Le Gourmet has 28 employees working at the company headquarters, with more than 300 associates worldwide, the bulk of them in the United States and Canada. The company notes that it can ship gifts all across North America, the United Kingdom and parts of India, making this opportunity a good one for residents in those parts of the world.
