About Nature's Sunshine
The company was founded in 1972 as the first company to encapsulate herbs. Gene Hughes, a Utah school teacher, had taken the advice of a neighbor to use cayenne pepper for his recurring stomach discomfort. Although swallowing a spoonful of pepper provided positive results, it was unpleasant. So, Hughes’ wife, Kristine, suggested putting the powder into easy-to-swallow gelatin capsules. With the help of additional family members, the Hughes began a small family business, selling encapsulated cayenne and other herbs to health food stores.
Nature's Sunshine Products
Nature’s Sunshine’s product line consists of more than 20 categories of herbal and nutritional supplements, as well as products for personal care. A home products line includes air sanitizer, purified water, cookware, cleaners and home appliances. Nature’s Sunshine Products are sold in 30 countries, represented by nearly 600,000 distributors. The Company has operations in the U.S., South Korea, Mexico, Venezuela, Japan, Brazil, Canada, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, the U.K., Israel and Chile. The products are exported to several other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway and the Russian Federation.
CleanStart®
This 2-week program of nutritional supplements contains 28 daily drink packets and 28 capsule packets. The system supports natural waste elimination and contains psyllium hulls, bentonite clay, aloe vera juice, chlorophyll, potassium and stevia.
Silver Shield
This non-toxic silver supplement is suggested to be taken 3 times daily, with meals. The product is also an EPA-approved surface disinfectant and can be used for application to the eyes, ears and nasal passages.
Super Omega-3 EPA
This supplement contains two fatty acids, EPA and DHA, along with lemon oil to reduce the aftertaste and gas sometimes caused by fish oil, and are suggested to be taken 2-3 times per day.
Food Enzymes
This product is designed to support digestion of protein, carbohydrates and fats. Each capsule contains etaine HCl, ile salt, romelain, ipase , lpha-amylase, ancreatin, papain and epsin. Capsules are taken with a meal 3 times daily.
Thai-Go®
This blend of fruits and nutritional supplements contains xanthones, bioflavonoids and antioxidants, with mangoseteen as a key ingredient. Other ingredients include wolfberry/gogi fruit, sea buckthorn, red grapes, grape seeds, grape skins, raspberries, blueberries, apple extract and green tea.
