Procard International was founded in 2000. The company provides access to various medical discounts (dental, prescriptions, physicians, vision and so on) by purchasing a PCI Card; the company notes that this is not an insurance plan, but instead provides cardholders with substantial savings, regardless of whether they have insurance or not.
Since launch, the company has branched out into other discount areas, including discounts at local restaurants, cinemas and stores. The company claims that altogether the card can be used with more than 1,000,000 businesses.
The company currently has just over 10,000 independent associates. Those who wish to join the company as an independent associate have three choices:
- Referral Rewards Associate: people who join in this position are trained and then they market the company to leads provided through online sites and methods
- Marketing Associate: these people do the marketing and customer inquiries over the telephone rather than online.
- Associate: these associates negotiate with their local businesses in order to convince them to join the discounts program.
Procard Services
Procard International provides people with access to discounted healthcare, but is not an insurance program, although it can work as a corollary to one. The company also offers discounts for everyday expenses such as discount movie tickets and meals at local restaurants, if the businesses have agreed to join the program
