About Vie
Chichester-based company Vie At Home was founded in 1997 as ‘Virgin Cosmetics’ by Richard Branson, the well-known British entrepreneur. The company initially traded only in skin care and make up products, but has since expanded to include homeware, jewelry and body care products. Initially trading only in the United Kingdom, Vie At Home now has an international presence in eight countries.
Vie At Home began as a company in Britain, but has since expanded to an international audience, operating in Spain, Portugal, France, Lebanon, Germany, South Africa and the United States, with plans to expand to other markets in the future.
In October 2000, the company celebrated the milestone of serving their 1,000,000th customer. The company re-launched in 2009 after Branson’s Virgin Group paid Vie At Home £8.8m of brand protection money as well as writing off £21m of loans. This move left the company free to forge ahead and create a new identity with a solid network and management in place.
Products can either be bought directly from the website, or via consultants at parties in a host’s home.

Weight Management Supplement
The pack, costing 60 tablets, costs £27.50. The tablets contain pine kernel oil, which is marketed as an appetite suppressant. They also contain green coffee and green tea extracts and chromium, which is said to maintain blood sugar levels
One Step Face Base
Vie At Home claims that this is their number one selling product, with one being sold every two minutes for £15 in Great Britain. Its main selling factor is that it is an all-in-one foundation and powder. It comes in six different colors, ranging from alabaster to soft beige.
Body Nutritional Scrub
This body nutritional scrub (£13.50) contains cocoa butter, sweet almond oil and vitamin E. The marketing suggests that it will leave users with a healthy glow and youthful looking skin.
Chamomile Oil
One of the most expensive of the aromatherapy oils at £22.50, the company claims that the oil is a soothing oil good for calming children and promoting a good night’s sleep, as well as helping reduce the symptoms of skin conditions.
Mediterranean Sea Bracelet
Vie At Home have recently introduced jewelry into their product ranges, and this bracelet (£12.00), made of acrylic beads, painted wood and antique gold plating, is typical of the range.
Aspen Water Jugs
Much of Vie At Home’s new homeware range centers around smaller household items, such as this glass jug, priced at £18.00.
