Do You Promote Just GDI?
Company: Global Domains International, IncI was on the GDI Forum and I post a Question "Should I just promote my Global Domain International" MLM and Vincent the owner of www.YourOwnLife.ws response was a great direction to me and I would like to share with you please let me know how you feel, I would like to grow in this business.
Hi Raymond,
Hope you are having a great day.
I completely understand about your sponsor, and while it's unfortunate, I have many people contact me with that exact same issue.
The question you are asking here is should you focus completely on GDI or should you use your site to promote other products. I can't give you a definitive answer, because believe it or not this is a question asked by even the most successful affiliates. But, perhaps I can help you decide for yourself what would be best.
The first question I have is how are you marketing. You mention that you write articles, so it seems to me that you are working on driving traffic to your website via keywords. For instance, articles are good to use for boosting your site's ranking in search engines because of the weight the links you put in that article hold. But they also are directing people who read your articles to your website directly.
So, what kind of articles are you writing? Who are you targeting? In other words, who exactly will be the kind of people looking at your articles or typing in the keywords you are attempting to rank for?
Actually, just last night Joe Florendo and I had a conversation about this exact thing. You see, Joe is a mastermind at social media and is quite good at building a following. But, he mostly attracts GDI affiliates and people who are already in a network marketing or internet based business.
So, for him focusing on promoting GDI really does not make sense. The trick, the big trick is to always give people what they want. It does no good trying to sell a steak at a vegetarian restaurant. Likewise, it does no good promoting an opportunity to people already in an opportunity.
On the other hand, if you are targeting people who are looking to get into internet marketing or owning their own business, then focusing on GDI makes absolute sense.
So, the answer, and the one you must answer, is who will you be talking to?
I see you came across my blog. As you can see in the right hand column I am promoting things other than GDI. Why? Because most of the people coming to my blog are people already in GDI. So, my goal is to attract and help them, and at the same time offer things that will be of great value to them that will pay me a commission.
BUT, that is not where the bulk of my money comes from. I promote GDI almost exclusively elsewhere. That's because while selling products will give me SOME money, GDI gives me residual income. One is short term, one is long term. I never worry about hitting the leaderboards anymore, and often have people sign up under someone on my team, because again my goal is not short term, it is long term.
So, what should YOU do? Well, the first thing you must decide is what kind of income you want. GDI takes longer to build, but it also lasts longer and provides residuals.
Focusing on products (for instance, CPA or Clickbank products), is more short term but has the potential to bring money faster.
Then you must decide on who you are going to target. Will you be targeting people looking to build a website? Will you be targeting people looking to build an internet business? Will you be targeting people already in network marketing looking for help?
Once you decide that, then you can determine how to give them what they need and/or want and make a profit from it.
I know this is a long response but there's more...
Another thing to consider is how straightforward your site is. If you are writing articles about one thing, and then promoting something different, you send a mixed signal.
One rule in making a sales page is give the person reading your page only one option. Tell them exactly what to do. The more options they have, the more likely it is that they will not take the action you want. In our case, that is probably to join GDI.
You may look at my blog and see that is not what I am doing. However, that is not a sales page or something that I promote. It is designed to help GDI affiliates, especially my personal team, and if I make a little extra money in the process so be it. BUT, you will never find me promoting something there that I do not feel is of extreme benefit and something that I personally use or that has aided me in building my business.
I hope this all is making sense and not just adding to your confusion. I'll leave you with what I tell my new team members.
Focus entirely on GDI. And do that with a vengeance. Then, once you get good at that you can begin promoting products to your team to increase your income level. But only promote products that you yourself use, have bought, and find to be very valuable to them. Otherwise, you stand the real chance of confusing them, send mixed signals and eventually lose their trust and destroy their ability to grow your team as well.
Did this help?
