The local business movement is getting a foothold in their community by helping the community buy local first. They are learning to let the experts do the work while they concentrating on what they do best...run the business. Small business owners are  using the experts with online technology to get them to stay competitive in the market place because it's now affordable. Local business owners can now capture their local market with experts that get them a real web presence.

Big business have always had the resources to expand profits by using effective tools such as online websites, social sites and email as well as many more. These resources were not effective for small business owners because of the amount of money they had to pay. Usually done by people who are not skillful in what it takes to be effective and seen on the first page of the search results.

If they did pay it was not effective because if you're not at the top of the search engines for a keyword search it doesn't matter. With big business using global internet connections they have created a big blow to the  local business community.

Tools that were used to get people to buy local are no longer getting local customers buying locally. People are turning in  their Yellow Pages and newspaper advertisements for online research, and the business that can take advantage of the new trends are joining the local business movement and competing in a market dominated by big companies. Search results have always been dominated by big companies.

The Local Business Movement now has access to:
1. Optimized web sites: It must be properly designed, built and optimized to be friendly to both the customer and the search engines. Web sites created by experts ate essential to any small business owner.
2. GEO Targeting: Local Business owners can now target specific markets that they can produce results from and get customers that want to buy their products locally. 
3. Local Listings: The Local Business movement now is able to afford to get listed in to top maps and places where people go to find directions and locations to small businesses in the local area.
4. Local Businesses: Small business can now leverage the experts on social sites. Social sites can target entertainment, work, hobbies, education and location to allow themselves to spend wisely on the people that are more likely to purchase their goo0ds or services.
5. The Mobile Movement: Local Business owners are getting ahead of the mobile media movement.  In December 2009, there were 286 Million active cell phone subscribers in the US. With a population of 308 Million Americans.Small local business owners can get potential customers to opt in through a text message.
If customers want to get that special bargain at the place their shopping they can be advised how to opt in to get the special of the day. They can be sent offers over and over again especially when business gets slow so they can get people in the door on a consistent basis.
People buy locally and need the resources to get to a place they can get them. Small business owners don't want to be left out of the growing trend of online business but how can they afford it. There are now small cost cutting resources available to the small business owner now and the people that utilize it can grow bigger and hire more employees to compete in the bad economy.  People are also learning how to profit and be one of the first movers  for the local business movement and creating new lifestyles.
