Had an old acquaintance contact me today.  Offering me a "free" program to get involved in.  She was pumped, excited.  She and I had started in network marketing roughly the same time.  She was a couple months ahead of me, in a different company, on a different path although we have crossed a few times over the last 5 or so years.

I knew she had joined MLSP a while back but not much more than that.

I was curious as to why she was once again choosing a different route.  So I asked questions and I listened.

Turns out she was addicted to free.  She wasn't comfortable offering MLSP to someone because it would cost them money and she was there to help everyone and some people couldn't afford it and she wasn't a good salesperson and with free you didn't need to sell you could just offer and she had ever excuse under the sun why she hadn't made a success using MLSP.

I pulled the old Dr. Phil line:  So how's that working for you?  The free stuff?

She got diarrhea and started to tell me how many leads she had already and she felt so good being able to help these people without having to talk about money and she went on and on and I listened.

I wished her well.  Hung up and wondered in all those years how she still hadn't gotten it.  Still hadn't grasp the concept that free didn't equate to value.  Value is a commodity.  Bought and paid for just like a loaf of bread.  She can get a free or cheap loaf of bread and it can make sandwiches but are they fit for the queen?  Or would they be more suited to the homeless looking for a handout?

MLSP may cost a whole total of $10 to start and less than $50 to continue but she could have used the freshest bread and offered it to gurus and homeless people alike knowing both sectors would be receiving a tremendous amount of value.

And that's what we're here for isn't it?  Providing value?

She doesn't get it, yet, but eventually if she keeps persisting for another five years maybe something will sink in.  Maybe.  One never knows.
