Wow! This is great to see all the Amway distributors on this site! I'm new to the Network Marketing game so im all ears to any advice you would like to give. I am very interested in talking to some of you IBO's to see how you are running things. I believe the power of social networking marketing is the key to anyone's Financial Independece. I want to generate leads via the internet, but need some guidance starting off my great adventure. So if your willing to throw some pointers my way here and there im willing to listen.
Thanks,
IBO Adam Pope
P.S hope everybody who reads this has their dreams come true!

Re: Amway & Quixtar
Hi guys,
I tried to read most of this forum, and found the nipping back and forth just a bit tiresome and skimmed through most of it.
I too, have been around Amway / Quixtar for some time, but I wasn't able to make any money in it, because I just wasn't much of a marketer. I too, had a tough time cold calling and just talking to people cold even in the mall. My upline ( I had a few in different times ) wasn't much help, all they could say is," just walk over to someone and talk to someone, how difficult could that be?" They didn't get it, and I was just a lagger.
While I am still a "card carrying member", I had to look at another opportunity that's, allthough not billed as a MLM, but as Direct Marketing, I'd say it's still MLM for the compensation plan, but anyway, I had a sponsor / mentor here that was willing to help and invest time and money in helping get things going. But it still didn't work for me.
So, I was cruising the net, looking for a contact that I had at Rich Dad.com that I needed information for, and found that he was no longer with Rich Dad, but was marketing this product by Mike Dillard ( Magnetic Sponsoring ) and I thought that THIS would solve my problem. THANX JOHN, THIS IS WHAT I NEED!
So here's what I got so far, and please correct me if I am misunderstanding the issues here. Amway / Quixtar want you to market their products and services with the "shoulder tapping" ( the way I was trained, "face to face " or " kneecap to kneecap" ) method. You guys that want to automate your systems, I can understand you AND understan them. They would prefer to use the replicated websites so that they can control what commitments you may or may not make. Instead of going through the whole compliance thing, you just use their sites - problem solved, for them. One other thing: Amway / Quixtar is INTENTIONALLY not ( from what I know ) allowing the "personal automated systems" because their marketing is that allthough QUIXTAR was designed as an automated processing of order system, that it was still a PEOPLE BUSINESS and not just an automated business. They still want to promote that it's PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE.
But here' what I see: We go back to Mike's whole premise, and use the "funded proposal" concept to market the MS business, find the people that want to be IBO's or marketers. Find the people that have no problem doing it the old way, what do you care? So long as the PV's and BV's are going up, Great! If not, who cares? You can call it "shoulder tapping / face to face" once you've qualified them through the MS process, and call it the same from that point on.
As for buying the tools and being on the tools program, just stop, get harrassed? Fine, no issue, you're bringing in the PV's and BV's and you're making your checks. Last I heard, only those from Diamond and up were making money from the tools anyway, and Amway / Quixtar's (public) premise is that you make money by purchasing volume in products and services. BTW, read the IBO application. It says, (and I paraphrase here ) "the buying of trainging and tools is OPTIONAL and not mandatory to building your business, and can be returned at any time ". They may not like your methods, but since we are using a different approach to "cold calling" than they anticipated, I can't imagine we'd get shut down for that. I could be wrong, haven't read an Amagram / What you want, or whatever the magazines are called now anyway in some time, and haven't kept up except for my registration.
But there's another thing too. When I joined up with Amway / Quixtar the very first time, at no time was I considering that, " I want to be a Diamond when I grow up", it was, " I want to make extra money that my J.O.B. wasn't giving me so that I can have the things that I've always wanted ". I never understood the issues that we had recently that people were marketing to achieve "Jewel" status as opposed to making the extra money.
(heck, I'd just say call your upline (to yourself, of course) the same "naysayers" that they call those "prospects" that say that the Amway / Quixtar package is a scam and won't work. If you can make the whole MS project work, as Mike says you can with the Amway / Quixtar package, and bring in volume I don't think that Amway Corp., would have an issue with it. Your upline might, but then you're not in the business to support your upline, you're in it for yourself - well, you and your DOWNLINE. Gives you a different perspective on things, no?
)
Ok, enough for me. 'nite all!

Re: Amway & Quixtar
Thank you so much Ron, you have answered a lot of questions for me that I have been trying to answer for myself, I had recently returned from a BDS in Canberra Australia that I found to be a photo copy of the last Meetings that I have attended in the past except, the people that had spoken, were nothing near the Diamonds that had premiered the in last major function that I had attended, Hence It was totally Boring, I have come to the conclusion that if this is going to work I need to do it on my own terms and use what I have already learnt have from the CEP program.
It is a known fact that telling people how easy this is, is the hardest thing you would ever tell some one in their Life, so I am going to use my own strategics along with the best of what I have learnt from the CEP Program to sponsor more Ibo's Into Amway.
Do know that this is a fantastic Opportunity to create a great life style, but what it takes to be successful is a lot of patients and understanding of what other people really have as a goal in life.
For most of the people I talk too, are stuck in a place where the goals are just a far distant of memory their child hood.
In a Nut shell you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink it! But I will stick with it.

Re: Amway & Quixtar
I have been with Amway since 1977. I have seen people come and go, and I have had my ups and downs. That's just the nature of network marketing. You have to stay in there for the long haul and be flexible if you want to see success. It's not a free ride that's for sure but there is no better business model out there. Everyone uses Amway as the model to set up their fly-by-night business. There is no better training as far as I am concerned. SO who is with ILD, just for curiousity?

Re: Amway & Quixtar
This is really cool to talk about a company that I was a part of for a bit of time.
MLM company you are a part of, but instead how you market yourself (You Inc.).
I am aware of what Amway/Quixtar and a few other MLM companies, but truth is, it does not have to be about the particular company (unless it is trash), it is really about the marketing campaign you are using.
Now if you are like the 90% of marketer's, they are trained and only know the old or one way of doing marketing.
I can only say, open your mind to what is up and coming and look around a little so you will not miss the boat in place that gives great solutions to your marketing/downline pains.
See you at the top!!
