Recently I took a 3 day course on how to become a better presenter. I'll never forget one of the exercises he did. Everyone basically took turns being the leader and we played "follow the leader". You might be thinking that was childish and silly but as he discussed it afterwards I really understood how it applies to any business. It was asked "Who were the people that were good leaders and why?"

Some of the answers were:
1. Jim moved slowly.
2. Michael used rythmn to help us follow.
3. Susan used simple movements that weren't difficult.
4. Cindy watched us carefully to see when we were following and kept repeating things until we all were able to follow.

This went on for several minutes. I learned some valuable things. If I want my organization to follow me and duplicate my efforts I have to make it easy for them to do so. I also need to lead out and show them by my actions what I want them to do.

For example: If I want them to train their new Associates I better train them. If I want them to listen to their prospects vision and then in a brief concise way tell the prospect how Bookwise can propel them to their goal, I better do that too. They are going to think back on everything you did with them and try to duplicate it. If it is difficult to duplicate then they won't be successful.

For those of you that know me outside of Bookwise. You would know that I have had my own accounting business for 8 years now. I have worked with dozens of small to medium sized businesses to help them be successful. One of the keys to success in business is systemizing everything. This is why Franchises are so successful. All McDonalds has to do is plug in a new Franchise holder into their systems and it will be successful.

If we as business owners can systemize each part of our business ie prospecting, enrolling, training, and motivating we can be wildly successful.
