When I was in business for myself a few years ago, I put a lot of money into it...just putting ads in everywhere I could possibly afford. It got me nothing! I spent tons of money getting booths at shows...got nothing! I spent hundreds, even thousands of dollars overall, but I realize now that doing anything and everything to get my name and business out there is not the best way to grow my business. I have started with a new company, a completely different vision, and I'm playing it VERY smart this time by taking my time, learning from the instructors and contributors on BN, so that I play smart this time. I need this to work this time! Thanks so much for this great posting!

Investing in your business and business education is vital. But, you must manage your cashflow. You can't spend yourself into bankruptcy trying to get started. There must be a balance. You must always know how much is coming and how much money is going out.

Even more important than investing in your business is investing in yourself. You can spend a million dollars on your "business" but if you don't know what your doing exactly it will mean nothing. You have to spend money on books and other forms of training so that you can grow and then your business will also.
