It's really not that hard. Post good content and people will find you. If you don't have content, post links to Dillard, Randy Gage etc. Most people are sending so much spam that even a little effort to be normal will yield results.

Find a niche that you excel at and teach it to others. You'll find that as you provide valuable content and tips to your social media friends, they will follow what you do.

Good copy writing will stand out on the tons of spam on group walls. I get alot of traffic this way.
Create a group invite friends everyday and provide them with valuable content.

Hey Guys,

Here some extra tips...

1. Think of Twitter, Facebook & YouTube as "Personal Branding" Tools. Give away awesome content so that people fall in love with you and your ability to help them achieve their dreams.

2. Find additional ways to make money such as Affiliate Marketing. It doesn't ONLY have to be about leads, leads leads! Show them where to get free stuff, awesome stuff and stuff that they will thank you for and credit you for providing them with the hook up.

3. "Re-Purpose Your Content"... For me I have my Twitter automatically update my Facebook,

My Fan Page goes to Twitter which goes to my Facebook Profile
YouTube Videos get shared on Facebook & Twitter
My Blog automatically updates Twitter & Facebook (usually a video that I upload to YouTube and then embed)
Digg> Updates Facebook
And so on...

Point is that you do NOT have to spend time on these sites. You can set them up to automatically update themselves. However, I leave each one open in a tab and when I have free time or take a break throughout the day I will see if anyone contacted me, re-tweet'ed a tweet, comment on a Facebook Update or whatever and I will reply. Tweet Deck makes this as easy as can be...

But it all comes back to PROVIDING MASSIVE VALUE! As long as your sharing valuable stuff people will follow you and want to know more...

Great post I agree and I totally agree with you Heyley, lately I have been getting so much spam on FB and MS I don't read any of it I just delete it. It is a social networking site and that is what most people are on there for. What is going to happen is FB and MS will end up making polices to keep people from doing that it in the long run it will hurt our abilities to drive traffic from there.

I used to direct my twitter traffic right to my capture page, but now i found it converted a lot better by taking my traffic to one of my blog post with useful information than having a call of action to go to my capture page.

It works very well and I only do about 3 twitter posts every day...

I really appreciated Dave's advise to "be yourself" on the social network sites. That is so very true. It will make your life much less complicated.

Garry's suggestion to use attraction marketing is very helpful as well. The old saying that "honey draws more flies and lemons" is very true. Be interested in the people you connect with and concentrate on them and their needs. Find a way to help fulfill their needs as you can and this will help you be more profitable.

I have experience with Facebook. Facebook is therefore what I will deal with for now.

Facebook has hundreds of millions of people who are active. It would be great to get a slice of this pie. And it should be now because rumors doing the rounds suggest that perhaps it will soon be a paid site. Strike when the iron is still hot!

The first step should be to create a group account. This will be your fan page.
Make the page as interesting as you can. Use photographs that are relevant to your niche and post content that will captivate your fans. Ensure that the content is regularly updated to keep your fans glued. Use videos to give your site an edge. Do everything to keep your fans mesmerized and wanting more.

Make sure that you add links that point to your site. Do not overdo this though.

Then use your ingenuity to attract followers to your page. It's all about recruitment. Invite people and other groups to your page.

I understand that there are ways of putting a capture form right there. I will want to find this out soon.
