As your new here, and I see you have posted only twice, and joined Jan 2011, so I'm going to give a benefit of doubt.

I would advise to read the forum policy. Your link needs to be in the signature link.

Best to step forward to give value, and links in the signature. If someone asked for one, then no problem but no one asked for links. Just suggestions on 'why they have no leads.."

Hey there. I didn't get to read through all these posts so maybe this has already been stated.

Let me say first chasing friends is family is NOT the way to do it and a quick way to lose friends as they become annoyed with you.

I think you should start by reading magnetic sponsoring to understand what attraction marketing is and that is exactly what you should base your business on.

Better networker is a perfect place for you to be. Why? Not so you can promote your product. I honestly could careless what the product is. I could sell dog pooo if I wanted too because I have value to offer in the way of leadership.

So, why should you interact in places like this? Because....you can attract experienced network marketers as you too become a leader into your business. It's all about people actually wanting to work with you because you can provide value in training, leadership and so on. NOT the product.

There are also great systems out there that you can use to start generating leads. I am a part of one and I am sure many others in here are also. The system I use generated me upwards of 25 leads a day and they are all already in the industry just struggling and looking for direction. That's where attraction marketing comes in.

So, start with Mike Dillards magnetic sponsoring and check back in after you have read it and let us know what you think.

Hi Beth, don't get discouraged from not having any leads. We were all "newbies" at one point and had to start somewhere. Trust me, you are in the right industry, the concept of network marketing as a whole is great, and the BN offers TONS of free training. If money is tight (as it is for many people), go ahead and run with some of the free lead generating techniques. Here's a few:
1.) Facebook interaction, which has been dubbed by many people as the #1 way to market a business in 2011.
2.) Craigslist adds, many of these will get flagged so you do have to be consistent. Try changing a word or two on each post and you'll find less of them will be flagged.
3.) Forum and Blog marketing. Find relevant forums and blogs that pertain to your product or service and get involved. Don't be too quick to sell people. Give them some value, show them your personality, and when the time is right, post a link to your product site or preferably your capture page.
* A capture page typically has an autoresponder and it does cost a few dollars to get your capture page up and running. I am assuming you have a capture page and an autoresponder as those are some of the basics of online marketing.
I personally use MLSP because it offers SOOOOO much value for $50.00 a month and the Aweber system is another $19.00. The good news is that if your hungry, you can make that money back in a few weeks, it's really a win-win. If you want more details about MLSP, feel free to message me.
If 70 bucks a month is outside of your budget, message me, I have some money making strategies outside of network marketing that I used to get establish a marketing budget and get my business up and running.

If you like to write, blogging cannot be beat. You can hire a freelancer create a beautiful blog for you and you can brand it to yourself, or your company. I like to do both.

I have found that creating a blog specifically for the company I am promoting works well. You just have to be consistent with your posting and get some good backlinks through article marketing.

In addition, videos work well. You want to add value to whatever you create and write about. Study the industry and become a leader or expert in a certain area of your industry. Become a leader and people will follow you and be drawn to you.

This takes time, Beth, but it is a process and a journey.

Be careful with your warm market, and be selective. People in your warm market may naturally want to follow you if you are successful. I prefer internet marketing and not a warm market due to some bad companies I joined in the past. Warm markets that are a little less close to you may work better if you want to dabble in this form of networking.

I have a lot more I want to write, but I am a bit tired.. late here on the East Coast.

You can get free leads from article marketing. Not everyone like article marketing because it requires a little writing skills. You need to write up to 250 to 500 word essay will a call to action in the author bio box. The second method is You-tube. That will require you to get out of your comfort zone and make videos. Surprisingly not many people use You-tube yet to market their business. This thing about free traffic it takes a while to build up. You should have approximately 100 articles before you start to see results. The bust immediate way is to set up a lead box at a restaurant or cleaners and have a give away in exchange to getting them to put their business card in the box.

This is a REALLY interesting thread, I have read most posts & would like to offer my thoughts, for what they are worth.

I agree that reading MAGSPO and TrafficFormula are ESSENTIAL to getting and identifying How to Brand your self. However to get any leads, despite the above TWO books, its really important that you have compelling copy ( Copwriters Guild) is for my money THE ONE course that ALL networkers should get and Study, that way LEADS will flood to you.

Hi Beth,

don't know what your product is but here are a couple of Ideas.

1) Postcards - plain non branded, simple message that gets attention then website url (should have some way of capturing lead info)

2) Facebook - Target people who have an interest in what you are promoting, there is a school of thought that you should also target other networkers, my experience is with that you end up getting endless inspirational qoutes and spammed to get their biz opp

3) Video marketing - Very powerful, create vids and upload to YouTube, can also share them on your social networking sites such as Facebook and Linkedin

Just some ideas to get you started, best of luck
