Copy writing courses

Postby Hyunki Park on Thu Oct 21, 2010 4:02 am

I've been interested in copywriting for quite awhile now and decided to look for books and courses to invest in:

it's seems that Bly's books are at the top of the list (from a post in this section of the forum)

but should I invest in Dan Kennedy's system, Yannik Silver or AWAI?

I hope some one on here has some experience with later three names and could offer some input..

thank you

Hunki,
Two sources of good copywriting that I found useful are "The Copywriters Guild" - you can find that one on the magnetic sponsoring website, and "Kick-Ass Copywriting in 10 Easy Steps" by Susan Gunelius - your local book store or Amazon.
Good Luck! Learning copywriting is probably the best skill you can learn.

I own the Copywriters Guild program from Mike Dillard's site.

It's straight forward and easy to understand. The best tool is reading others who are recognized as effective writers. You'll get a feel for their rhythm and then when you review something like the Copywriters Guild the discussion there will make more sense.

Hyunki, I would recommend the Copywriter's Guild also, it was very informative and gives you step-by-step guidance.

Joe Sugarman has a great book called "Advertising Secrets of the Written Word"

Dan Kennedy is excellent with "The Ultimate Sales Letter: Attract New Customers. Boost Your Sales" I'm sure his courses are great.

I like Seth Godins books, because they teach you the right mindset to reach your target audience. I'm reading "All Marketers Are Liars" right now.

I hope that helps! David

I've recently finished the CONTENT REMOVED by support course By Yanik Silver I cannot imagine a course to be better then this one I know for a fact that Mike Dillard recommends all Of Yaniks programs

These are Mike Dillard's words in his essential reports pdf: If you really want to learn this skill, (and in my mind it is the single most valuable one you could ever learn), pick up a copy of Yanik Silver’s course. It’s not cheap, but worth millions if you use what you’ll learn in there.

Here is a link CONTENT REMOVED by support

You can download here 2 FREE E-Books from Yanik to test drive his products:

I would second the suggested for the Copywriter's Guild. Also Google John Carlton here is a link to his blog for Free Strategy Tutorials:
http://www.john-carlton.com/free-strategy-tutorials/

Also in the interview Mike Dillard did with Ben Settle. They mentioned several time to look at other copywriter's work. Check out a great website Gary Halbert Letters:

I know Mike has mentioned several times the way he learned copy was he would sit down every night and copy the copy from other great copywriters.

I just started reading Dan Kennedy's The Ultimate Sales Letter and it has truly given me a better perspective on copywriting =)

There are some interesting responses here to this question. I guess the short answer is that You can never have TO many Courses, all the aforementioned names are good, if not excellent.

For me it comes down to writing style & relating to that style EG: Is it similar to the way you would write. So for that reason I tend to follow & in NO particular order, Mike Dillard, Yanik Silver & Ted Nicholas.
