It's all about the fundamentals of copywriting, and once you get those fundamentals down, you can apply them to "any" situation. And then you just have to ask yourself what style fits "you". I found that the style I really enjoy and fits "me" is Mike Dillard. He has a smooth and straightforward, no-nonsense approach.

I don't have any specific favorites. I also watched a webinar of Ross Goldberg and on of its mentors is Maria Veloso and yes, she discussed all the basics of copywriting that I find helpful for newbies.

Anyone looking to learn from the beginning,

I would recommend the book I mentioned above by Joe Sugarman, "the copywriters handbook" - which is a book by Robert Bly, and as far as internet copy goes...

I would recommend a course or two by David Garfinkel, because he's easy to follow for beginners.

I've also heard rave reviews about Yaniks "ultimate copywriting workshop" even tho its one of the only courses I dont personally own yet.

Awesome, David, thanks for the tips -- exactly what I was looking for at the moment.

Gary Halbert all time favorite. However living I would have to say John Carlton.

Personally I have not studied much of copywriting.

I do enjoy the things Mike Dillard has put out and am
a constant student of his sales letters informally.

Also I agree that it is a good idea to do what Jim
Yaghi suggests. Visualization can create the imagery
you need.

Creating a powerful image builds realism. And also
knowing the image you're going for allows you to
create awesome headlines, and sentences.

To the top,
