Think about the difference between criticism and harrassment. You criticise someone politely and state what you would have done in that situation. Do it one time only. If he does not learn from it, leave him alone. Telling him a second time is harrassment.

Re: Attacks are Unattractive

Postby Global Earl on Wed Jul 29, 2009 2:18 pm

This is my first day and post here, actually my first few minutes. I tracked a search where the term
SCAM was used not, once, not twice, but three times to describe my company so I posted a Scam
post on my blog about Betternetworker. com and Mr. Jason Flenniken, being a SCAM, a website and a man I know nothing about.

I have since removed my post, for the record. I find nothing attractive about a site, even this one,
which looks pretty informative, to use terms like this to either increase your visitors to your site
or attempt to bring others to your marketing programs. In short..a better networker would not
use this method and it has nothing at all to do with any real business I want to be a part of.

Hi "yinqiaol", I need to point out to you the Forum Rules and Guidelines!

Please READ THESE RULES NOW!

Rule #1: No Blatant Advertising

This is going to be the BIGGEST REASON a post will be deleted. SIGNATURES ARE THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN ADVERTISE! Obvious spamming of opportunities, paid affiliate links, etc, will get deleted. These forums are not places to promote your business or affiliates. Do that in the opportunity section of the site. Having links to YOUR OWN site or YOUR business in your signature is OK. Please no AFFILIATE links anywhere in ANY posts.

Rule #2: Bring value to the discussions!

Any posts considered profane, obscene, or not in lines with the discussion will be moved or deleted. If you are going to contribute, do so with something of value.

Rule #3: No Attacks By Anyone

No personal attacks against products, people, or opportunities.

Rule #4: Company Specific Forums.

There will be discussion areas set aside for distributors in specific companies. If your company is not listed, you may request a forum for it. You are only allowed to participate in these discussions if you are an active distributor in that company. Negative posts will be deleted.

The Bottom Line: When in doubt, think twice about what you are posting.

Thank you

All the best

Alan

I think in the case of "Yinqiaol" we are seeing a BOT or someone that has nothing better to do than try and SPAM everyone. Posts like these with no picture and nothing but blatant advertising are not worth the read or a response to them. These type need to simply be reported and let admin deal with them so we can move on to better things.

People need to stop picking on other people. Picking on someone is a thing done ever since childhood. The bullies better watch out, because what if they pick on the wrong person? Then the wrong person even if he seems to struggle throughout life can tell 25 other people about the bully and then the bullies credibility will be destroyed!!

Hello Judy
The longer you are in the business world, you may become fascinated with how people deliver their respective messages under the guise of belief systems. Leaders are readers and continually strive to excel their Leadership skills. This forum draws a diverse mix of weak and strong approaches. However, there are rules of engagements and Leaders who have the power to keep the Community relevant while subscribing to higher standards. It is a daunting task.

Ferny and Richard Bravo are two Leaders who will handle the situation you present so long as you provide the specifics and direct them to those channels and/or individuals which can be shut down in a nanu second. They need us to help them keep the BN community vibrant.

We appreciate your concerns.

To your continued Prosperity

Don, I absolutely agree with you, however I thought I would at least give the benefit of the doubt! Maybe I was wrong and I should simply have reported the post to Admin straight away?

Hey Judy,

I appreciate your post. I'm all for passionate discussions and I fully realize that people are going to have different opinions.

But like you, I had been noticing more and more posts where people were attaching each other, being rude and calling each other names. And it was really taking away from the discussion and professionalism of BN.

When you see a post that is attacking someone or is spam, click on the triangle box on the top right of the post to "Report This Post". This notifies the BN moderators to check out the thread to see if there are violations and to take action.

Hi Alan,

I apologize but I was not trying to say anything against the way you handled the situation...I do the same thing and will always give someone the benefit of the doubt as I don't want to see someone get in trouble for not knowing the rules but on the other when people post in any forums it is their responsibility to know the rules and guidelines before they post. I (like you) want to point out the rules so they will know not to do it again and in 99% of the cases they will take notice of it. I will report the one's like "Yinqiaol" as it is obvious as to what they are trying to do...which is just blatant SPAM.

I remind the one's who have been here for a while who put links in their posts as to what the rules are. These people know better but do it anyway and I really don't understand why. This is a place for learning (from some of the best) teaching and growing as a well respected community. Better Networker is ranked very high in the search engines, we all can get a lot of really good press and it will only get better if we can stress no links in your posts, make everyone understand the guidelines, rules and the TOS.
