Hi can anyone help me? I used Roxio Media Creator for my 3 videos. All went well until it was time to put them online. No-one can open them unless they have Roxio
So today I bought Sony Movie Studio 9 according to the clerk who said this is the most universal software.
I cant turn my videos into Youtube because they are 15 minutes long.
Has anyone successfully made 15 minute long videos and been able to make them available as a link online somehow?
I hope this new software works. Thanks for the feedback if you have any...

Re: Best Software for my Videos
Hi Monica
With Youtube, it has to be 10 minutes and not over. Or you have another option but it needs some fiddling with a software which I don't know much about.
Youtube says, it can also be 100 MB. So, that can mean you can upload any length of a video if it is 100mb size. How that is done is:
1. You convert the file into a format and quality that takes 100MB or less to be able to upload it.
To do that, it needs a software. But I think Youtube has also clamped on about this too and trying to stop people doing that.
There is other ways - but you need to become a Youtube partner. This happens when you have more views and Youtube contacts you to put adds on your videos.
So, best to first do the following for now:
1. Cut your video into 10 minutes length or below 10 minutes
2. Import them into movies window maker if you can.
3. Then save the movie. This will make the video as an avi formation.
4. Now upload these two videos. Each one must be 10 minutes and under 10 minutes.
Sony Vegas is a brillaint software. I use it a lot because I'm into quality and also it gives me functions to do widescreen formation, and I do filming too, and high video tutorial productions.
However, if you're only looking for a quick solution Monica, right now to upload to youtube, then - import your videos in windows movie maker, cut it up, save. It still be quality video.
Hope that helps.

In terms of making videos for simple yet effective video blogs or vlogging I highly recommend, have used and have been recommending for years now Camtasia Studio by tech smith - you can google them and grab a free 30 day trial.

If you need help and get stuck with the 20 mins - then zip the file up, upload it somewhere where I can download it. I'll cut it up so you have 10 mins x 4 videos. Then send it back to you to upload them on youtube.
Help here if you need it.
I agree, Camtasia is a very good software for recording. You can download free trial here

Been using it for years for recording video tutorials. Sony for editing. Windows movie maker sometimes to lower the size and upload to Youtube.

Hi Monica - another thing you can do with YouTube, is chop the video near the 10 minute limit, and put a "End of Part 1".
Then, in part 2, start about at the last sentence you had in part 1. Put a quick "part 2 of My video On...." (or something better than that!) at the beginning of part 2.
Now here's the cool thing that's great with YouTube: once you've got both videos online, you can add an annotation box on your video, and turn it into a link which links to the second video, with a message like "CLICK HERE FOR PART 2!". Here's an example you can watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY1HQDT3onY ...which uses the video linking.
Let me know if the above is useful, or you have any questions.
Best regards,
Dez.

Hey Monica,
I'd highly recommend using Microsoft Movie Maker, it's completely free to download from the Microsoft website or it should come with your computer if it is a Microsoft Operating System.
Movie Maker is fairly basic and is very easy to use.
It will easily allow you to split your 15 minute into 2 pieces which can then be uploaded to Youtube!
