Craigs List SPAM

Postby monica odenwald on Sat Aug 15, 2009 5:57 pm

Hi everyone. I have been listening to black Belt Recruiting on my headphones all week! When I built a team of 14 people last month my MLM promoted me to a new level of Managment. (now I get 250$ for every new recruit) So I started working online. My Craigs lists ads received great response but from business owners trying to sell me their help for increasing leads at various other locations online. Is this SPAM
I feel that it was because my AD had nothing to do with asking for help with my business. It was under small biz opportunties. What would you do with these responses
Sure appreciate the feedback,

I get this from other classifieds not only Craigslist. I tend to ignore them now.

I would get an e-mail saying they like my ad and they know a place where thousands of interested people would be interested in my business. Without fail, it is an invite to Direct Matches. I am already a member of DM (I don't visit DM that much, almost everything there is Spam).

I have e-mailed them back in the past, thanking them for the invite and sending them my DM profile and asking them to add me there. Not one response to my e-mail or adding me at DM. So, now I just ignore them.

Not sure if these are the same e-mails you are getting or not.

Are you asking if this is SPAM? Because in many ways it is SPAM. Spam in my opinion is lazy marketing. These guys are lazy just pitching a biz opp right back in your face. You're out there pushing your opp so their logic is people with a biz opp are prospects.

It's SPAM, just ignore it. Image

Thanks for the responses David and Nathaniel. I thought I was being SPAMMED. I was so excited when I got my first reply from Craigslist to my first ad. I thought...this is it! Here we go, my business is about to take off.

Three or four SPAMs later, I realized that I need to change my ad. But I emailed back those SPAMMERS and told them that I considered this SPAM and will be alerting the Craig's administration of their email. I did too.

I am totally starting online here and didn't know if I was calling a spade a spade or just a little upset about my first responses....I eased off after the third one and figured maybe they can really help me.

Interesting how ones views or perspective can shift like that.

Craigslist is totally a sellers market. There are no buyers anymore who read biz oppty ads. Smart marketers though in others companies realize this and reverse market. Cause listen I would rather contact oppty buyers than oppty seekers. Once you buy an oppty you are probably going to buy 4-6 others in the next couple years. Some might consider it spam but as long as it is a business to business email where you are spam compliant leaving your address and an unsubscribe it is really a great way to harvest business from oppty buyers. Lets face it 95% of people advertising on craigslist arent making real money anyway in their business so its a good place to convert them to your ideas or business.

Software like phone gold miner allows you to harvest PRESENT day mlm genealogy lists. Why call old defunct genealogy lists.

Thanks, but Mike Dillard recommends Craigslist in his Building On A Budget Course and didn't mention that is isnt used by many home business opportunity seekers. His message was to get out into traffic but that was the site he mentioned to place your ads. Do you think he knows this information you gave, too Chris?

Hi Monica,

About three yrs. ago craigslist was a HOT and I mean HOT place to advertise because it was FREE and had tons of traffic. This was about the time BOAB was created. :o

Fast foreword to today!

To many people abused craigslist for what it was for and since then craigslist has cracked down on the people that spam and abuse this once awesome resource!

Craigslist can still be used to get some good traffic but not like it once was, I would not lose sleep over trying to figure it out nowadays because simply its not worth the time and effort! :?

So if your having trouble trying to figure out craigslist?

I wouldn't even waste my time! :D

Thank you so much for the information. I did advertise on craig list awhile ago. I haven't had any
feedback. I will not waste my time renewing my add.

I agree with Ed... I wouldn't waste my time trying to get leads from spammy environments like Craigslist.

You'll get much better quality leads if you use true attraction marketing strategies such as blogging and article writing, videos, PPC etc - publishing specific solutions to specific problems in the world.

It will take some time and dedication to master these strategies but the results are well worth the effort.

All the best,

Wayne

Would it be okay if you built this business just once, built it right and built it BIG to pay YOU and your future generations?
