Fill in the blank. I knew I had found my niche when_________

Postby Chris Tryon on Wed Aug 04, 2010 8:54 pm

I decided to stop by tonight and check out the topics of interest. Tony Lauria posted a good question: How Do You Handle the SELLING/BUYING Paradox? Which got me to thinking of another popular phrase in mlm: Niche marketing.

If you are like me and most of the people that I know, you have more than one niche. I am a natural health fanatic. I love natural health products. The problem comes from trying to sell them. Most people will ask, "What makes your product different from all of the others on the market?" If you don't have an answer that is going to convince them that what you have is going to benefit them in some wonderful new way and is a great value, they are probably going to purchase a cheaper, yet similar product elsewhere.

Now if you can provide them with a product or service that they are currently using that is superior in EVERY way at a greater value, you will get their attention.

That being said, I decided to follow that advice. I have found one of my niches. It is fast becoming my passion because I am not selling anymore. I am just getting the word out to those individuals that have a need for what my product can do for them and their business. It is a tremendous value and a superior product in every way.

I am involved with 2 companies. I love both of them. However, one of them is clearly starting to help me meet my own dreams and fulfill the needs of my niche market.

My question to you is: How did you know that you had found your niche?

When I started developing relationships with people I respect and admire. Everything else just keeps falling into place after that. Opened my eyes to new possibilities, new opportunities, new personal growth and new skills.

And it's ongoing,

... I knew it was about telling, a softer side of selling, and helping people address their skin care and/or business opportunity needs. It's always about the customer or prospective consultant. And, it's about bringing our best selves to every interaction!

While we are all always "selling" something, if even ourselves as people worthy of a friendship ... the key is finding out what the other person needs and wants ... and respecting them regardless of whether they are a "fit" with what we are about at a given point in time. We are each free to make our own choices and associations. And often times, hesitations, or "no's," can later become "Yes!" I have high regard for people who are very different from me, but where we can respect one another's position and become interested in truly hearing one another.

.

... the second I make the first sale.

Any niche will do if there's an adequate pool of active buyers.
After the first sale all you have to do is refine and scale.

Of course some niches have "one pop wonders."
As with anything you simply need to watch your ROI and campaign activity.
Some things just die out.

But if you do your research before you jump in and accompany
that research with a pretty solid campaign, you can almost guarantee at least
some level of success with anything you jump into.

I knew I found my niche when I had folks coming to me with joint venture requests and those business "deals" made me 5 figures in one day.

O.K. with that said--it didn't happen overnight. I connected with hundreds of people. Built my product--NOT my MLM and then started letting folks know about those products.

I built a team who work for me (all outsourced)--and then I thought hey why don't I offer this to everybody--and well it took off.

This is what enabled me to quit my job of 17 years--and work only for me.

I knew I found my niche when I found a product that actually improved my health. I tried another product. I tried to market that product with little success. Well, it was less than successful. I tried again on another product that I was introduced to. I tried it. I liked it. I got on it for a while. My health improved. I had energy like I never had before. I was a little overweight. I felt healthy. So I thought. I found out through my doctor that I was on the path of having a heart attack. That woke me up. I stayed on the product for a while longer. My health improved some more. My doctor explained to me that it was not enough to turn my health around. The product had maxed out for me. I went back and upped the dosage. My health improved again. My doctor was still a skeptic. He put his team of professionals on me to monitor my progress. My health improved gradually again. My health issues are being addressed. I lost the weight. I obtained more energy. I maintained a higher activity level than a lot of younger people that I work with. Yes, I found my niche when I got on this product. I would stay on this product even if nobody else joins me. Yes, I like this product so I would promote it. I would be the model of health for everyone to see that this product works. So far, it seems, the only people I talked to are very healthy themselves and they don't know anybody who needs this product. So I wish everybody to be healthy!
