Neil,
Seems like you have everything to get you out of avoiding procrastination, but now there is only one thing you can do... and that is to just do it.
Think in terms if I don't do this, what will happen. Who am I hurting at the end of the day. I recently posted "Silence of the Lame Procrastinator" where it actually will give you my most valuable tip I use to help avoid procrastination from lurking.
Eat the frog my friend.

Very Good Topic, Time management, productivity vs Busyness (Business)
I too was guilty of "forgetting to remind myself" to W.I.N. (Whats Important Now)
So I taped a Post It Note on My Computer Screen that simply says W.I.N.!!!!
Another Great Reminder is " Never Mind The Mules" "Load The Wagons!
Do It Now! and W.I.N.
Hope this helps!

Re: I need a few tips on avoiding procrastination.
This jumped out at me... because I concur!!!! I have the same problem... I'm artistic and creative and get distracted easily... staying on task is so tough for me....
I found his little tool that has really helped me... it sounds silly, but it's just a little thing that allows
me to separate my tasks and "to do" lists... and helps me "eat the elephant one bite at a time"...
Now I have to find the darn thing.... hold on...
Wow... that took some time... http://tinyurl.com/l2489q
It's called the Action Machine... it's a way to put your tasks in and time things you want to focus on...
Anyway it's all explained here... I think it's an affiliate program, but can't remember... I use it all the time
and find it's helped me in the daily grind....
Best of luck... let me know if you get any good tips... I enjoy sharing those things... carol

Re: I need a few tips on avoiding procrastination.
Hey great article. I actually wrote about this on my personal blog here is the direct link: http://www.vincecianci.com/how-to-stop-procrastinating/
Without going into too much detail, the First step would be to work out WHY we procrastinate in the first place.
The Second step is to work out WHAT people are doing instead of that thing they should be.
Work out what YOU do instead. I list mind in my full article.
And lastly the introduction of the Success 6.
This is writing out the 6 most important things you must do the following day and get to each one in the order of importance and not moving onto the next one before the previous one is completed and ticked off the list. This keeps you focused and gets the most important things done first. Everything else can wait.
Read the full article for a full understanding.

Re: I need a few tips on avoiding procrastination.
Everyone always mentions something about time management. However, time is something that we can never make more of. In other words, we only have 24 hours a day. So the only thing we can do is prioritize the activities that we want to accomplish that matter the most.
Prioritizing your activities is about focusing only on the tasks that truly have the most value and the most productive and eliminating those that have the least amount of value. To explain a little further, prioritizing is about making choices and decisions about the activities you engage in everyday. If you look at your life right now, I’m sure you can carve out an hour or two to work on your goals. Now it may sound like that’s not a lot of time, but added up over a course of a week or month you will find that will have accomplished a lot towards the achievement of your goals.
So in order to begin the process of prioritizing, we must learn to look at every task in relation to time because time is always precious. Time is something that we can never get enough of, no mater if we live to twenty or up into our nineties. That is why prioritizing is so critical.
