You missed part of it, I offer them a resource or tool that they will see as something they need for their own agenda. Before I choose that offering, I make sure they will allow me to contact anyone I refer so I can offer more help later.

Double opt-in is more of a risk of possibly losing a prospect. Just for this reason alone you would be better off with single opt-in. With a great number of traffic you wouldn't want to take the chance of losing a percentage of prospects because of the longer risky process of double opt-in.

I work with double opt in. It seems like I get better quality people on my list.
I understand the risk of losing some of them due to the spam folder situation but overall
I think double opt in is working better for me.

I'm in for the double opt-in.

It ensures that the person is really interested in reading my e-mails.I have not noticed a significant difference on open rates for the first follow up message using either method.

That being said, I make sure that when the subscriber hits submit, they are directed to a page that notifies them to check their spam/junk folder if they don't see a confirmation e-mail within the next 10 minutes.

That seems to help.

In a double opt-in your going to get a higher quality of leads for your business, without anyone giving you phony emails just to see whats on the other side.

But you will get less leads in the process.

On the other hand you can have more leads but some of those leads might not be as high quality leads as you want. You could have a video on your opt-in page, and start eliminating people who you don't want to sign in.

Like this training is not for those looking for a quick check, or if your just surfing the net just looking around and don't really take no action, this is probably not for you....etc.
