Hey all!
So being on a 0 budget right now, I have been convinced that putting in some work and effort around a particular product I'm interested in may bring me some sales. My question is, has anyone had success with bum marketing? more than likely i will focus on you tube marketing, article marketing, classifieds even, and probably utilize my website as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Bum Marketing Anyone?
I have no intentions of spamming people. My intentions are to not focus directly on the product, for example if i were selling the "Forgotten Laws" affiliate program on click bank why not write articles related around the subject matter it entails instead? What I mean is within promoting such a product, focus on targeting people who want to bring change into their lives. I guess I say this is because this is actually a product in which has value to me as well. If this makes sense

Wait,
I think I may have come up with an idea.... However my mind is flurried with so many different ideas. I believe i want to create a website around motivation. I think I'm focusing too much attention on money right now. I may be going to school full time, working full time... but I have something within me that tells me it matters more to express yourself as someone who comes up with original thoughts and to express it to people. You know what, what the hell I'm going for it

Hey.
best advice would be to learn how to build a list in that niche.
Create a free offer that you give away in exchange for name and email address, go and market that squeeze page with article and videos with strong calls to action i.e to get more .... go here ...

Re: Bum Marketing Anyone?
I have had success with article marketing by promoting digital products. There are a lot of different ways you can succeed with bum marketing, but I will tell you how I did it:
I first visited Clickbank and searched for a product that was selling well already. Many people say you shouldn't pick a high gravity product, but I did and it resulted in good sales eventually. Even though its true that high gravity products have much competition, there are always gaps that you can fill up. It worked, that matters now.
After I picked my product, I hosted a website with my main keyword in the domain-name and installed either a landing page or blog on it. You will want to start with just one website promoting one product. When you set up ten different websites at a time, promoting ten different products, quantity will be bigger than quality which you shouldn't want to happen. You have to focus on one product at a time when starting out.
When you have spend enough time on one product and website, you could move on to the next one. However, keep in mind you will always have to maintain every website you have.
After setting up the website, I started doing keyword research. When I looked for keywords, I made sure to find keywords that would be "selling" keywords. Not keywords that do have something like "free" inside. For example: I could use keywords with "free money strategy" or something, which would result in a lot of visitors to my website, but these visitors will most likely turn of because they aren't looking for what I have to offer.
Keeping that in mind, I have been looking for keywords with 800+ exact searches p/month. When I found a keyword that meet these criteria so far, I searched the keyword in Google. The next thing I did, was to look how much backlinks the websites on the first page of Google for that Keyword had. If there are a lot of websites with more than 50 - 100 backlinks, I usually turned them down because it would take me too much time to rank on the first page of Google for that keyword. There are some other criteria you should look at, but this was the most important indication for me to see if the Keyword was good to use.
When I found keywords, I started writing articles on them. After a lot of testing, I noticed that only one QUALITY articles did much better than five less quality articles. So after a few weeks of testing I took more time to write quality articles. When an article was done, I posted it to article directories. Then I pinged, backlinked, etc. the articles and tried to rank them high in search engines for the keywords I found. I used articles to rank, because the articles can rank per keyword and my blog had to rank for the main keyword.
Alright, its becoming a very long post and I could add a lot more indepth information.. But I hope you can do something with it and make your start at bum marketing. Make sure you never give up! Many people who try bum marketing are tend to give up too fast. It is quite a boring task to do the backlinking and writing many articles about the same subject, but it will make you money when done correctly!
Good luck.

Hey Theo.
First I would ask you to define "bum marketing."
I know what it means to me and the processes and workflow that I have developed over the years.
But what does it mean to you exactly?
Start there, then we can help you better based on what it is you're looking to achieve with this concept.

Re: Bum Marketing Anyone?
If you are referring to article marketing.....some of the Google algorithm updates over the last few months have really dropped traffic levels at article directories....... resulting in a corresponding decrease in click through to ones sites.
So.....bum marketing hasn't been nearly as effective as it was in the past.
In the long run, you are better off building up a site of your own...building links to them.

I would say it is defintely a good idea to start in a niche that you are passionate about and you can relate to what your potential subscribers would be looking for. I've never heard of Bum marketing before but most people start with a low budget. Its just a case of putting th work in and being dedicated in my opinion. The Directory Of Ezines might be worth checking out for you.
