MS Affiliate Best Practices

Postby Kurt Henninger on Thu Mar 19, 2009 11:23 am

First, I wanted to thank Craig for sending out this message today! Good to hear from the MS affiliate manager.

I wanted to start a thread on how to use MS strictly from an affiliate perspective. So, to kick it off, I'm going to include my personal best practice here for using MS as an affiliate program.

One of my most successful techniques is to promote MS as an "attraction marketing course" to those on MY list. Let me explain.

I've found pretty good success by "directing" my fresh leads to opt-in to the MS free series of videos on my thank you page. Also, in my follow-up series, I include a "p.s." on each message reminding people to go get the series of free "attraction marketing videos". My marketing approach is to use MS as "attraction marketing" training, and have focused more of my auto-responder series on more practical aspects of lead generation, (ppc, blogging, forums, etc)

I'm able to get approximately 60% of my leads to opt-in to the MS free video series by this technique. From there, the MS team does a very good job of selling the MS program and training itself. Yes, I also promote other affiliate programs other than MS as well :), but focus on programs that really help people breaking into online MLM.

Anyone else have other best practices to promote MS as an affiliate?

Has anyone used the MS sales page as their "Thank You" page, and to what success?

Right on Kurt.

That is a great strategy to both train your prospects and down-line, as well as position yourself as the expert to your team.

Thanks for starting this thread. It is exactly what is needed. Way to step forward and be a leader!

I Agree.

If you can funnel your traffic and your leads FIRST through your OWN capture page then introducing Magnetic Sponsoring as a "free" gift works well. Having a Welcome/Thank you page that directly moves them into Magnetic Sponsoring as a gift with a 7 day free boot camp does well.

As the "want" is still fresh in their mind giving away free information to help your lead build their business will increase the likelihood that they will want even more information you can give them and especially if it's free.

Then just like Mike Dillard, continue to use your autoresponder and remind them that Magnetic Sponsoring video course is free how it's vital to understand how the industry works. Best to put it as a footer on e-mails and not dedicated too many e-mails on just selling the affiliate package. More of a reminder that it's available.

That's a great way to introduce Magnetic Sponsoring to your prospects. No to long ago I started doing it this way as part of my email series in my autoresponder and from there I send them to Mike Dillard that will explain them more in details about attraction marketing. Work very well and puts you as a leader that knows the wheres and hows. The key is to brand yourself all the time and people are forgetting about this important ingredient.

Hey Kurt,

My approach is similar to yours, and I do believe offering MS as an introductory course to attraction marketing is the best strategy.

To make that "introduction" offer stand, I usually recommend MS as a startup point, before they start my own training - which is a bit more practical than MS.

I agree that as long as you remind your prospects that it's a fundamental piece of information and they would benefit tremendously from it, you're on the safe side.

Great post, man. Thanks.

Hey Kurt

Really great value there mate. Some great ideas. I got different capture pages at moment, just launching a new one, and I adding same as well on thank you page. I want to see the difference but and I'll hopefully share full result soon.

I testing something out already and well, I was surprised.

I am getting to find, that having not just thank you page, but something else for people to look at, is making a big difference. It's like you do all work, they get to a page to say to confirm, and that's it but when I added affilate products, I saw a positive change, action from the leads.

It somehow strengthened everything else I am doing.

So Kurt...I have to agree, great post mate! Hope to see more of your value here mate. This is going to be an awesome thread! :)

Thanks

Thanks for the input guys!

Yeah, again, strictly speaking as an affiliate, it really depends on what you want out of it.

As a general rule of thumb, the further "out" you put your MS message in your own auto-responder series, the fewer people you are going to expose to that offer. Your in general going to get fewer clicks and in turn fewer click throughs as your own auto-responder series progresses.

People will even .....gasp....opt-out of your series as they move through it!

I regularly look at what affiliate programs convert better and I will once in a while re-organize my series to get increased or decreased exposure for them.

If you have a better converting affiliate program, move it up in your auto-responder series and get increased exposure!

I've found that MS converts pretty well to purchases, and has probably the highest lifetime value per MS lead of any "home business course" I've come across, so I try and "get" my own leads into that program as soon as possible.

I personally use the cash from MS to fund my PPC budget strictly for generating leads for MLM, so to me, its important to get cash flow going and keep it up.

Again, all from strictly an affiliate perspective and not from the "attract to me" perspective.

I find mlm and internet to be an ongoing learning experience. What I do, however, is just promote MS. Even though I have listed my primary program here in betternetworker, outside of this I NEVER promote the opportunity-though I may do market individual products. MS has been a great lead maker for me
