Now What?

Postby Darlene Craven on Thu Mar 19, 2009 11:26 am

Hi, Craig. Glad to get your invitation to ask away. The thing is that I bought Magnetic Sponsoring and I've yet to execute. I know -- my bad. It's like having a gym membership and not going. Sooo. My question is how do I get started? I get bogged down with the admonitions to use this language and not that word for getting people to the site. I also wrestle with am I marketing say for instance the Sendoutcards or am I marketing Magnetic Sponsoring?

Guess even for a smart woman, I'm dazed and confused about getting this stuff set up. Thanks and I can't even figure out how to ask you to connect on The Better Networker.

Thanks for any input you have the time to provide.

Hi Darlene,
I'm not Craig, but I think I can help.

MS vs. SOC? I would start with MS. It is much better to promote
your business on the back-end by qualifying your audience with
a generic info product or funded proposal.

The primary benefit is that you will DIS-qualify those who are not
willing to invest in themselves. I don't know much about SOC, but
I bet it costs a heck of a lot more than Mike's book.

Further, not everyone will be interested in SOC, but you still get the
opportunity to connect with them for training, JV's other offers, etc.
This helps create Social Proof for you by growing your sphere of influence.

For your original question.....How do I get started?
This is both easy and difficult. The best advice I can tell you is to simply
do something that gets your name, link, product, out there. Easier
said than done, I know. But, you just have to do it. Even if your first
effort yields no results, at least you have taken action and have something
to build on for the future.

TONS of avenues for this....YouTube, Articles, Classifieds (all free).
For me, I have found PPC to be a better use of my time and surprisingly
keep costs low.

Hope this helps.

If you've read MS correctly, then you should be marketing you. Hard to do when you're just starting out I agree, but once you start applying it, then marketing MS or SOC becomes a whole lot easier.

Feel free to check out The Insider Report. No signup required, but explains how I (and some of the top ranking MS affiliates) took our own little nuggets from MS and put them into practise.
Okay, I finally opened up.

Check out how I can help you.

San, completely agree with your point. You should be marketing YOU, not your business or system and that is where you ultimately want to be.

However, I do recommend that for the absolute beginner, you do use a "system" page so that you start to get the feel of conducting MLM online. Give it a little bit and take it all bit by bit. One of the advantages of a "system" page is that it allows you to learn the concepts of "getting traffic" and learning some basic skill sets without completely "inventing" yourself online. When you gain a little experience after a week or month, go ahead and start marketing yourself.

Learn as much as you can about everything and then teach it to others.

I have everything Mike offers and it's fantastic information.
I also use MLM Lead System Pro. Its only $1 to start and it walks you through the basics. They also have lots of great training stuff on their site.

Hope this info is useful.

Mark :)

Unfortuntely, I'm in the same boat as Darlene above. I've used the Magnetic Sponsoring System as my bible, but starting from scratch, not knowing a thing about the web, I'm still learning. Like a gym membership going unused, haven't jumped off the diving board yet. I've been working on my EBook (currently done and in the editing/publishing stage), and my site is almost done. Would it be wise to just start using these affiliate links in the areas where I'm publishing my articles? Or just dive into PPC?

I'm trying to keep things low cost, as my website, EBook, and educational materials are eating up a lot of my budget (as they should), and in Mike's Course (the big course), he mentioned that pay-per-click can be really expensive until/unless you know what you're doing. Being so new to the whole world of internet advertising and marketing, I'm afraid to go that route.

Would it be wise to try to make a few bucks first, putting the affiliate links on my articles and blog BEFORE diving into pay-per-click? Anyone been in my shoes?
Thanks,
Cathy

Wow, Cathy,

Talk about a smart beginner, you're already finishing your own product and your own website and you haven't even got your feet wet yet!

Congrats on establishing the foundation of your business so soon. However, too much preparation can lead to stagnation. If you've already got a blog, you're publishing articles, and you have at least some traffic directed at your campaigns, then by all means, send them to MS.

Until today, people that bought MS from me are some of the most valuable contacts on my list. Not only did they stand out, but they are still active, and some are now business partners.

Plus, MS is the perfect funded proposal for list builders, mass mailers, etc...

Jump on it, you won't regret it!

Leo,
THANK YOU for the refreshing vote of confidence. As you know, in the world where you have no boss, it's sometimes hard to find direction, or a compliment for that matter. Makes me feel better knowing my 12 hour days aren't going unpunished. :)

Okay..will get those links on my 15 articles tonight--yes, they are created to drive traffic to my capture page. Once that is finished, I'll figure out a tactic to get MS in my site, too, somewhere. I hope to be "live" on Monday.

PPC will be my next endeavor after the autoresponder project.

Thanks again..and for responding so quickly.
