My reply to Josh's reply to me. What were your $600 of recurring payments for?
I looked... I exagerated, here's the breakdown from my bank statement.
3/9/2009 MC-MIKE DILLARD/MAGNETIC AUSTINN $97.00
3/9/2009 MC-MIKE DILLARD/MAGNETIC AUSTINN $205.00
3/9/2009 MC-MIKE DILLARD/MAGNETIC AUSTINN $49.00
3/9/2009 MC-GRC*PRINCIPALSEC3 OF 3 800-545-5595 $33.28
3/9/2009 MC-REPROMOTER 8017055325 $49.95
= $434.23
I was off by $165.77
But I was under the impression that I paid a one time fee for books and CDs of $205 and a $39 recurring fee for a back office and I thought the others were fees for capture page set ups and automated systems that I could modify for my MLMs.
What did I get?
Who is my upline?
Oh, and when all these fees came through, my credit card though it was fraudulent and stopped the ability to charge on my account which was problematic since I was away for a week at a conference. I had to by everything with cash or debit card. So all my automatic payments were declined and I got collection letters and phone calls and I had to re-set up my automatic payments. It was a huge hassle.
I want this to work. Somebody just please point me in the right direction and help me find the location of the resources that will help me understand what I got, what its for and how to use it.
Thanks,
Deb

What do you need help with?
Re: What do you need help with?
Debbie,
If you are getting billed again for anything besides the
newsletter, something is wrong. The other payments
should have been one-time fees.
As for the Magnetic Sponsoring System, it is not an MLM,
it is a training course which you can promote as a generic
funded proposal. You will learn more about this as you move
through the material.
There are other systems out there which will do what you are
looking for such as MLM Lead System Pro and the Online MLM
Mastermind System. But Magnetic Sponsoring is a tried and
true work horse.
Go to: http://magneticsponsoringlonline.com
You should have an email from "Magnetic Sponsoring" which
contains your username and password. Once you enter that,
you are taken to the home page. Look at the top of the page,
and click the tab which says "Products". This page has a link to
all of your products.
For your affiliate pages, go to "my account" tab and click on "my links".
This has all of the pages that you need to promote the system.
There's a little more to it than that, but you will need to get
started on your training to learn more.
If you got double charged, you need to contact your credit card company
or submit a support ticket to Magnetic Sponsoring. If you are still
lost after the information above, click through to my profile and
call me.
Good luck!

Re: What do you need help with?
Thanks Josh! I found almost everything some of those charges weren't magnetic they were other things that just happened to hit the same day. So now I will try to find out if those 3 Mike Dillard charges are supposed to be recurring by setting up a support ticket. Thanks again. I also found my back office and my links and started learning how this system works.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Okay, one actual question - how important is it to get my own web domain? I feel inspired to do so because I came up with a catchy name and it's available on GoDaddy. But is that a "big rock for my jar" or just a pebble?
Hi Chris,
If you really want to be successful you will need to start buying your own domain names. A catchy name is not the only thing you need though. You need to know what you are going to display on the page, and how you are going to drive traffic to the page. All of the people that I know that are really successful have hundreds of domain names, though they probably only use a handful of them. My advice buy it.

I'm a bit confuse. Should we use our own capture page rather than the replicated capture page provided in the back office?
How are we going to let our prospects know that we actually exists and not only Mike?
Hi Shen,
You should use your own capture page when you are advertising through PPC. Otherwise using the replicated pages are fine.
In order to let your prospects know who you are you need to contact them. Asking if the video's are working is a great interlude to getting to know them and then enrolling them into your opportunity if they are qualified.

Hi Ann,
Josh is giving you great advice. I wanted to add that even when people opt-in to Magnetic pages, you do not loose the prospect. You still get all the info in your back office. You can call them and add them to your own auto responder system from there. Also, getting someone to opt-in is what you are going for. The sale will come eventually. Most people require to be touched by marketing at least 7 times before making a purchase.

My partner, Paul does network marketing fulltime for Univera, mostly I just spend money and he does the work, I'm the net he's the worker. So my second month into this we got the $600 of recurring payments and can't figure out what we got other than the books, cds and this web site. Paul is supposed to figure out and he's read all the Mike Dillard e-mail that comes to my account but its all inspirational... isn't there some system or something that goes with it? That's it? Please tell the hopeless helpless newbie how to get started.
Hi Debbie,
I looked at your account and what you did was buy almost everything on what we call an installment plan. You paid half up front and the other half 30 days later. You should not receive another charge. You need to log into your back office and check it out. Then start reading Magnetic Sponsoring. You bought a lot of information, so do not worry if you get overwhelmed. Just pick one strategy and go forward.

Small correction Josh. This is not necessarily true. She bought the One Time Offers (OTO) as installment payments. You are doing a great job participating in this forum. Everything else you have said I agree with.

Thanks for the heads up, Craig. I had forgotten
about the 2 installments plan. Makes a little more
sense now.

Re: What do you need help with?
Dear Craig, (and Josh, and others)
I'm so glad you started this, and that you & Josh are giving such good replies.
I bought various MS products early last fall, finally got my nerve up in October-ish to do ppc (through MIVA--another vendor said to start there before hitting Google), and got 6 (?) total responses and 1 purchase. (I'm in Magnetic under 2 different email accounts, long story!)
At the time, I advertised for 3 or 4 other products (non MS), and got similar results, except no purchases!
Got scared about the lost money, and haven't advertised anything since. I spent about $300.00 ish total. I was thrilled that ANY of the ads got some click throughs!--but then no sales! Dang!
For the other products, I created my own ad, but for MS, I was tired, and I decided to use one of Mike's ads, VERBATIM!!!!! My one sale for MS actually came AFTER I'd run my ads, so I assumed it came from someone's random search of MS on the net, and my MS-affiliate-linked site happened to be the one that showed on that person's screen. **
In the ensuing months, I've been learning lots, and am FINALLY starting to understand & feel comfortable with the Landing Page Concept, and with (getting started) creating my own Landing Pages. (In Texas we called it, "Fixin' to git started!")--
Your and Josh's info on this one thread has been VERY helpful---I just didn't realize last fall that I should have done the landing page for myself, back then. It didn't even occur to me til reading this thread that I should make a landing page for Mike's stuff, too! Something I thought I learned from him last fall made me think that HIS landing page was enough. I thought I was following Mike's advice.
Whether I was or wasn't, I now have some more questions.
1. Why didn't Mike's own ad convert for a sale?** (I know, not much money spent, but still...?)(I've also learned a LOT more about keyword usage since then. I probably only used a few of what Mike recommended--thought his ad would be enough!)
(**--I'm NOT intending or implying any kind of fault w/ Mike or MS, I'm just confused and wondering. I like his products and system, I just haven't learned/implemented enough of them.)
2. I've tried a few personal emails to my TINY list (a few from MS, a few from the other vendors), but never thought I had enough people from any of them to warrant an autoresponder. I've been paying for Aweber for several months now, (DOH!) w/ no autoresponders sent (Double DOH!). Please explain how (or more importantly, IF) I could now incorporate an autoresponder, double-opt-in to my straggly few contacts! It's probably been a month or more since I contacted any of them.
3. All of the products I advertised last fall had some kind of Free Give-away. I've wondered if that was the sale-killer. Since last fall, I've heard various experts warn against promoting things w/ a Free Offer, as the "tire-kickers" will take the free thing on your PPC dime, but not make the actual purchase. Dang! So, how does a newbie (or pro?) marketer get the sale if the vendor is offering free trials? Is that up to my (or, in this case, Mike's) initial ad copy? Is it the responsibility of the Vendor's Sales Page Copy? How do we overcome the Free-Offer and Get The Sale?
4. I tried to call the people who responded to my MS ads and got hang-ups, wrong #'s, and/or, they were from somewhere overseas, w/ real or fake phone #'s. I am not really active in any kind of MLM, (other than MS and random other Affiliate offers), so WHAT would be my "back-end" offer to them, IF any ever provide a working phone #?
I've asked a lot of questions and written my usual long letter. Answer what you can, but I'd love as many specifics as possible.
Thanks,
Susi.
