Questions, Comments, Etc., relating to the Magnetic Sponsoring Affiliate Program

1. Why didn't Mike's own ad convert for a sale?**

-Not enough Exposure
-Too common (many people use Mike's stuff)

2. Please explain how (or more importantly, IF) I could now incorporate an autoresponder, double-opt-in to my straggly few contacts! It's probably been a month or more since I contacted any of them.

-If it's been that long, give up on them. You may be considered a spammer if they don't remember you.
As for numbers......To share my experience, I had 4 whoppin people on my list......FOUR! But, I sent a broadcast email about a webinar they could go to for free. You know what? TWO of them went! One sent me a very kind email thanking me for the invite....And the other turned into a business partner on a different venture. Your list is never too small, if you ask me.

3. So, how does a newbie (or pro?) marketer get the sale if the vendor is offering free trials? Is that up to my (or, in this case, Mike's) initial ad copy? Is it the responsibility of the Vendor's Sales Page Copy? How do we overcome the Free-Offer and Get The Sale?

-Mike's Free Videos put the prospect into an extended sales process. I used to get about one sale per day by taking people directly to the sales letter for MS, but I changed my approach and took them to the Free Video page instead. Now, about 10 times as many people will take the videos vs. buying the book....but I am banking on Mike to sell them later with the videos and his emails. If he gets just one extra person per day to buy MS, then I have doubled my profit.

To more directly answer your question, free offers are never free. If you are seriously just advertising something for free, then thank you, Mother Theresa, but this is business. Make sure in exchange for your
free stuff, they have to look st your sales letter, tell a friend, opt into your list or some sort of action. NOTHING is free.

4. I tried to call the people who responded to my MS ads and got hang-ups, wrong #'s, and/or, they were from somewhere overseas, w/ real or fake phone #'s. I am not really active in any kind of MLM, (other than MS and random other Affiliate offers), so WHAT would be my "back-end" offer to them, IF any ever provide a working phone #?

-Hmmmm. Well, MS is a generic funded proposal that is mostly geared toward MLM. So, it would make sense if you were in a company. Further, I haven't had the problems you are with bad numbers. Most people don't answer or don't call back, but the numbers work fine, and I do get live people sometimes. The idea is to make a contact and dis-arm their defenses by NOT trying to sell them on anything. When I talk to people, they ALWAYS open up once they realize I don't want them to buy my stuff.

I would maybe consider joining a company....(like mine!) Otherwise, you won't really have that experience to base your recommendations on. MLM is a fairly narrow niche in the grand scheme of things and it "pays to play".

To clarify what Dean is saying,

You can "Re-direct" your personal domain to the MS affiliate link.

But this is not the same as...

"Forwarding and Masking" your domain.

The difference is, a re-direct, merely sends the visitor to another website.
A forward and mask sends them to that site, but keeps the original domain
in the URL window.

You have to forward and mask on Google. But realistically, you should create
your OWN page hosted on your own server to be completely safe.

This can be a daunting task if you are not familiar with the process, but there
is plenty of information out there about it, or you can contact me.

Good luck.

Hi there,

I'm using Renegade Professional but I have several of Mike's products too. I haven't tried to link into his training videos, but I know he has some. Can you guys direct some of these people who are struggling to videos that tell them what to do next?

Renegade University has been very helpful to my team with the step-by-step, and I thought Mike did something along those lines. And I know he's associated with it somehow.

Also, I know some of these guys have videos that they've done giving instruction....

BUT if you can get access through Mike's site, I'd start there.

What I'd like to know more about is Instant MLM profits. Are there any drawbacks, compared to what you were doing before to track & manage? With the websites, do you follow a set template? Can you upload your own header? Can you load in your own HTML pages? Why would I advise my downline (and myself) to do this, other than convenience?

Thanks!

Hi Bonnie,

Why did you get that domain name? Do you want to create a blog or website around it, use it for PPC, or use it as a link for things like this forum?

I'm assuming that you've already read magnetic sponsoring or done renegade university. If not, that's a skip that you do not want to miss!

If step-by-step training is the problem, I posted where I train and asked the MS guys to give you some ideas of where to go.

But here's the gist:

You could have the domain name send people directly to an affiliate page, but as they've pointed out earlier, it's not the best idea.

So you need to decide if you want to create a 'landing page' where you basically make a personal sales pitch and direct people with a link to your affiliate site.

Or if you want to create a place where you build content that attracts people, via a website or blog.

You can create a free landing page at BlinkWeb (google it, I guess it's against the rules to give a URL) and use free Wordpress themes for a blog. You'll need a hosting service like hostgator. Josh has a program he uses that lets you build free websites. I like a website service that submits to search engines for me, and I'm asking around to find the best one. I use SBI (and use their web template & hosting) right now but for most people the training manual is overwhelming.

If this sounds overwhelming to you, you definitely need to get plugged into some kind of step-by-step instruction.

Best of luck,

Alicia

Josh and Dean,
Thanks for your replies a few days ago. I've been swamped w/ "stuff" and "turn-the-computer-off-giant-thunderstorms", so haven't made it back to thank you. Not sure I got all my answers, but that's apparently what the "chisel" in my hand is for! Gotta do some chipping away at the brick wall myself!

Alicia--- Thanks for the link to the free landing page site. I'm going to check it out.

I'm having problems with Instant MLM Profits, too. I'm glad you brought them back up.

I think I bought it WAY too early in my beginning days. I think it is a good product, but I got blocked by some issues to which I couldn't get straight answers.

On the details you're asking, I think it would let you create any type or style of landing page you'd like. (Not sure about the cool graphics I see on some landing pages, but maybe those things too.You can do video or audio, I know.) They have a way for you to create nearly duplicate landing pages so you can split test them. To a beginner, it SEEMED like cool tracking, conversion and money management systems they have, but I don't know what an expert might think of those things.

They were one of the merchants I advertised for last fall. In one day I sent them 1500 visitors! All told, they got 3000 visitors from my ads. NO sales for me. THEN I realized I COULD HAVE INSERTED my own Autoresponder, and had those 3000 people on my list. DOH!!!!! I've held off advertising for them since, because
(a) I know I need to have some kind of "free report" of my own to offer & I haven't organized that yet
(b) I'm not sure if they are still popular/competitive, as by now, so many other make-your-own landing pages sites exist.

My other big problem w/ them is the "extra" sites I get to create. They say I can use each of the extras to promote up to 5 products, but that's where their training, or my comprehension, fall off a cliff! I also wasn't real thrilled with the massive amount of mis-spellings/typos in their printed text. More than one on every page. Dang!

Still, I need to get back working with them/learning it again, because that's a BIG chunk-o-change I paid them, and I'm not getting any benefit from it! Dang again!

If anyone has any info on how best to use those "extra" sites Instant MLM Profits has, PLEASE let me know! One of the other affiliate offers I was going to promote last fall had their own uploadable landing page for me to use, but I couldn't get a clear answer from Instant MLM Profits if that "other affiliate page" would successfully upload into IMP's system, and I didn't want to waste a free or purchased domain name on a page that didn't work. (I couldn't do any uploading until I'd chosen a domain name!) LOTS of re-learning to do, now that I know a smidgen more than I did then!

What I need help with as a newbie

Postby margaret ferraro on Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:34 pm

Hi Craig-

Very nice coming upon this forum! Just joined Magnetic Sponsoring and looked around but still have a few questions that I hope you can help me with. For instance,

Suppose I write articles with my link to "Magnetic Sponsoring" - and let's say Joe the Plumber (ha ha, he doesn't have enuf to do these days since he's been laid off..) now, Joe is interested enuf to enter his email information to get the 7 free videos. Great! He watches them - but doesn't think he's ready to do anything.

So, Craig, at this point, if I understand correctly, the system will begin sending Joe emails to build a relationship with him, and slowly offer him other products?

My question is : Do I ever get to see (or alter) these emails at all? What products are being offered to him - and do I have any way of putting in my own choice of products? Or are these all of the other products in the back office that will be pitched throughout the email series?

Okay, that's 3 questions...

Also - if there is anyone out there who is using a blog or has created a capture page for MS - I would love to see it! Any guidance here would be greatly appeciated.

Thank you so much for your help here, Craig!

No you don't get to alter the e-mails. But don't worry. Mike's much better than you (and the rest of us) at persuading folks to buy his stuff. Stands to reason since he knows it better than us anyway.

No you can't put in any of your own products. Once opted in to MS, they are sold on the MS suite of products. But you get a commission when the sales are made.

Yes the other products are those that are contained in the backoffice. Although you may not have bought them you can still get commissions if folks buy them from your affiliate link.

Lots of folks have put up their own sites and blogs for promoting MS. You can check out my 'secret' site if you wish. Used to be a capture page for The Insider Report, but I'm too lazy to keep tweaking the darn thing so turned it into a site and blog.
Okay, I finally opened up.

Check out how I can help you.

Thank you both Dean and San,

I understand a little better now - I can see the emails by getting the videos, and it's okay about the products. I believe I did read somewhere that the prospect's email information is in the backoffice.
But that since the emails come from Mike - can't it be confusing to get emails from someone else?

Of course, we can capture their info on the capture page BEFORE sending them into the system - but won't it be just as confusing?

Sorry if I missed something somewhere - but if the purpose is for me to ultimately be able to sell the person on my other business - how should I go about branding myself to them?

I really do appreciate your help!

Thank you,
Maggie
