-Not enough Exposure
-Too common (many people use Mike's stuff)
2. Please explain how (or more importantly, IF) I could now incorporate an autoresponder, double-opt-in to my straggly few contacts! It's probably been a month or more since I contacted any of them.
-If it's been that long, give up on them. You may be considered a spammer if they don't remember you.
As for numbers......To share my experience, I had 4 whoppin people on my list......FOUR! But, I sent a broadcast email about a webinar they could go to for free. You know what? TWO of them went! One sent me a very kind email thanking me for the invite....And the other turned into a business partner on a different venture. Your list is never too small, if you ask me.
3. So, how does a newbie (or pro?) marketer get the sale if the vendor is offering free trials? Is that up to my (or, in this case, Mike's) initial ad copy? Is it the responsibility of the Vendor's Sales Page Copy? How do we overcome the Free-Offer and Get The Sale?
-Mike's Free Videos put the prospect into an extended sales process. I used to get about one sale per day by taking people directly to the sales letter for MS, but I changed my approach and took them to the Free Video page instead. Now, about 10 times as many people will take the videos vs. buying the book....but I am banking on Mike to sell them later with the videos and his emails. If he gets just one extra person per day to buy MS, then I have doubled my profit.
To more directly answer your question, free offers are never free. If you are seriously just advertising something for free, then thank you, Mother Theresa, but this is business. Make sure in exchange for your
free stuff, they have to look st your sales letter, tell a friend, opt into your list or some sort of action. NOTHING is free.
4. I tried to call the people who responded to my MS ads and got hang-ups, wrong #'s, and/or, they were from somewhere overseas, w/ real or fake phone #'s. I am not really active in any kind of MLM, (other than MS and random other Affiliate offers), so WHAT would be my "back-end" offer to them, IF any ever provide a working phone #?
-Hmmmm. Well, MS is a generic funded proposal that is mostly geared toward MLM. So, it would make sense if you were in a company. Further, I haven't had the problems you are with bad numbers. Most people don't answer or don't call back, but the numbers work fine, and I do get live people sometimes. The idea is to make a contact and dis-arm their defenses by NOT trying to sell them on anything. When I talk to people, they ALWAYS open up once they realize I don't want them to buy my stuff.
I would maybe consider joining a company....(like mine!
