Hi Dereck and Dean,

I really appreciate both of your posts, infact of all the helpful people in this community. Please do not take anything personally. You guys are doing really a great job in helping people like me. Thanks a lot for all your help.

To summarise what I learned from all the replies:
1. Need to have my own domain name to brand myself. The content what I will be putting in it plays important role.
2. Affiliate links can be promoted from personal domain and/or using articles.
3. Business card should have a personal email id of my own domain.

I don't recall saying anything about PPC and the whole discussion is about You, Inc and help with branding including using a blog.

I would say that the average cost for 1000 cards could cost a couple hundred dollars. For the same amount, you could host a blog, brand it, your facebook, a twitter page, your youtube channel and that's just to start.

Then use other sources like hubpages, squidoo, and other social media sites (like BN) plus other web 2.0 sources to better promote one self and really make a difference. That would go way further than business cards that get lost the majority of the time. Once again my opinion.

So when it comes to the challenge, I'll take it.

And in my experience... most people who join this industry have no clue on what to do anyway and sometimes offering small inexpensive resources like magnetic sponsoring can be a real eye opener for some people. Plus it leverages the knowledge of others and time.

Dean, I respect your opinion and I apologize for the harshness. I don't like defending and attacking but as of late it seems as if everyone around here is a little up tight (including me).

Interesting discussion. And it can get kind of confusing when you are first starting out.

I totally believe in the warm market, business card approach because it is the fastest way to make money (with your primary opportunity). Online, for anyone new, is a massive learning curve and yes, you can be generating leads pretty quick with something like MLSP or Mag Sponsoring BUT that is for the individual who is prepared to jump in, do something without knowing what they are doing. Not many have that kind of guts.

Effective blogging/article marketing takes months to build up a significant following and the learning curve to get to the top of Google in organic search engines for any kind of significant key word doesn't happen overnight. (For most people)

So the first thing I would suggest is the Plan, Do and Review strategy.

Writing an article on let's say Ezine Articles? The link in your sig file should point to your blog. Publish a Squidoo lens? Then that link should go to your Ezine Article which then takes them to your blog. Use hub pages as one place to put content or thatMLMbeat.com which could link to the Ezine Article or to the Squidoo lens or wherever. But create a plan or a picture in your mind of what your nerve center is going to be (i.e. your blog) and then create the flow that ultimately points to that center. You can do this with both your personal brand You Inc. and then have a separate blog for your main MLM if you choose. Same strategy just different centers.

Plan where you want to be and what you want to accomplish in the next 90 days. Do the marketing strategies you have chosen i.e. Facebook marketing, article marketing, blogging, twitter etc. THEN review what your results were. Change anything that is not creating whatever you designated in your plan. Then repeat over the next 90 days.

Focus, work consistently and review. BUT do the PLAN first and foremost.

Forgot - If you are serious about your business you will not use a free blogging platform as your center or main center. Had a very good friend of mine on wordpress.com who lost years of work when they shut her down and she never could find out why. OWN your site with wordpress.org and host it somewhere. I use Hostgator but there are other good ones out there too.

Thanks a lot for all your replies. Love you all...

Almost everybody who replied to my post talked about "finding a mentor". Are you guys talking to find someone in BN who can be my mentor(not sure if there is any such service in BN as I am new to BN) or is it to find someone, either in BN or in the world, who is experienced in all this stuff and can provide their services and training to me perhaps for some cost?

Naren,

There are plenty of trainers on this site and almost everyone who has responded to your post has some sort of knowledge on the subject matter. It's really up to you on who'd you like to work with.

Also, there are plenty of marketing platforms you might actually like to be a part of and really plug into to learn as much as possible.

That's the reason I joined Carbon Copy Pro. MLSP and 7FN are also wonderful communities.

Take a look around and the people located here and get to know them a little more. Check out their blogs and see if you jive with them. The cost to get involved is sometimes subjective.
