Hello All,

This is my first post in the community guys!!! So please bear with me if I am doing something wrong or going off the rules of community.

I have now completed going through "Magnetic sponsoring". Hurray!!! Thought I was all set to go...but when I wanted to start..number of questions hovering over me I am putting down my questions here with a hope to have answers to them. Please can some one help me out?

FYI..my primary business is not Magnetic Sponsoring but another MLM company.

(I may be wrong with some points or might be thinking more than required..please correct me, if you guys think so)

1. I understand that I need to start writing articles/blogs/interviews and publish them to "give" something to the "community" to position myself as a leader. My questions are..what would be the better way to do it? Using a free blogging service or my own domain?

2. I understand that promoting the Lead generation page that we get from Magnetic Sponsoring is very important as we generate leads through it and could also generate some revenue. How do I do that? My main question is that I now have my own blog/own domain and this lead generation page. Which one to promote?

3. I am planning to have my business cards to promote ME. I would like to give an email id on the cards. As it is better to have email id from my own domain rather than a free one, I am now confused as to whether I need to maintain seperate domain other than the one used for articles/blogs(point 1 above).

4. Would it be better to have seperate blogs..one to write articles/blogs in view of promoting products and one in view of promoting MLM?

Apologies for the big post and lot of questions. But I am so confused with all these questions that I am unable to take a step further.

I would be grateful if someone could help me in clearing all these questions off my mind.

Welcome to the community and you have done nothing wrong, so don't worry.

I'll attempt to break your questions down as fast as I can.

1. I understand that I need to start writing articles/blogs/interviews and publish them to "give" something to the "community" to position myself as a leader. My questions are..what would be the better way to do it? Using a free blogging service or my own domain?

Always host your own (unless you can't afford it). I LOVE bluehost but that's just me. Others in this community love using hostgator and I'd say both are at the top of the list. You can use other free blog hosting services, but you risk having it deleted and everything you've lost anytime in the future.

2. I understand that promoting the Lead generation page that we get from Magnetic Sponsoring is very important as we generate leads through it and could also generate some revenue. How do I do that? My main question is that I now have my own blog/own domain and this lead generation page. Which one to promote?

In your Magnetic Sponsoring back office, you will see a "My Links" tab on the top right hand side. In there you will see the links that directly connect that page to you and your affiliate account. Use that link in your marketing and or promotion. You can also disguise it by using http://bit.ly/ so people don't go around you to purchase the product.

3. I am planning to have my business cards to promote ME. I would like to give an email id on the cards. As it is better to have email id from my own domain rather than a free one, I am now confused as to whether I need to maintain seperate domain other than the one used for articles/blogs(point 1 above).

If you host your own account, you will have your own personal email (CEO@Naren.com) and that would be best to place on your cards. However, I'd put cards at the end of your list of things to do. For the same amount of money, you can better position yourself and your brand online to the BILLIONS there, rather than almost always forgotten glorified toilet paper. (Just my opinion)

4. Would it be better to have seperate blogs..one to write articles/blogs in view of promoting products and one in view of promoting MLM?

Concentrate on your own brand first. After you get than hang of building your own personal blog, then start to reach out and create another blog specific for MLM (This is your SEO blog). But for now, you can place all of it on your personal blog. It really doesn't matter. What you need right now is content.

Answer to Q2: You can promote MS products on your blog using banners which are in your MS system OR you can buy a domain and forward that domain using forwarding to your affiliate link. Send traffic to that link by Article marketing, PPC etc

Answer to Q3: You can do a personal email by using the Cpanel of your domain and go on the Email section and create one easily.

Answer to Q4: You can have as many blogs as you want. It would be cool to have one branding you as an expert and one promoting your MLM biz

I always wanted to go with my own domain but wanted to confirm from experts like you. What do you mean by "you can use free blogging service to link to it no problem". I am sorry but I am not good at these things yet. Is it something like integrating wordpress into your own domain?

I am now clear on how to promote MS system using banners in my own website. I have gone through your website and it is a good example to know how it can done. However, I am not clear on "Send traffic to that link by Article marketing". Is this some thing where we submit articles to free article publishers and include the links to our MS system at the end of the articles?

I am confused with this bit. Say I decided to go with my own domain(my Q1), ex: http://www.naren.com and I create an email, say chief@naren.com. Out of curiosity, the person to whom I gave the card goes to my website and finds all my blog posts/articles/reviews in it. Is this what has to happen? Or should http://www.naren.com be something similar to a corporate website that explains what we are, what we do, how we can help the person who is visiting the website etc? This is where I am getting confused.

Thankyou for the reply.

Clear with most of the stuff that you explained.I still have this question regarding the domain name for blogging and for email id on the business cards.

Business card is something that will be given to someone when you introduce yourself as an "expert" in say business development consultant etc etc. However, if we are using the email of domain name where we write all our blogs, that person would obviously go to my website and finds all articles. Is this somethign right? Or should we have a seperate domain all together for business cards and this domain will be something like a corporate website?

Naren,

Just my personal thoughts, you always want to promote yourself first. Your face, your voice, your video always!

So send them to your personal blog and have all your personal information on that card. You can even have your email be CEO@whateveryoursiteis(dot)com.

Make sure to have your face on the card if you can (a clear picture).

They way you market your links as an affiliate in your article marketing is usually in your resources box. This is where and really the only place allowed for authors to place those "self serving" links in.

As for domains, don't worry about having more than one. Just focus on your primary domain (your personal branded blog). Focus on one thing, it will save you time, energy and money.

Welcome Naren, and congrats on getting through Magnetic Sponsoring.

1. Use a free blogging service such as Wordpress, but forward it to your own domain. A blog is relatively easy to set up, and does a great job as your online marketing hub. Using your own domain name brands you and looks more professional. It's not expensive either.

2. Primarily, promote your own blog/page, but include on that banners for your affiliate links to Magnetic Sponsoring etc. Include affiliate links in articles and other content, and share them through some social media or networking sites.
Generating income from affiliate programs is not your main goal. Ultimately you want to sign people up into your primary MLM business. So you want them on your own list first.
In short, promote YOU first.

3.Having an email with your own domain name definitely looks more professional, and is not too expensive. However most people will not be too concerned if they see a gmail or whatever. Most important is that you decide one way or the other and stick to it.

4. Separate blogs for you and your MLM? Easier to start with one blog to begin with. You can always add articles relating to your MLM, either reviews, overview or whatever. Later, once you've built up some content and got the lead generation basics, start another specifically for your MLM.

Using a free blogging service like Blogger.com for example. It is a free blog but you do not own it. For example naren.blogspot.com. You would link it to your domain by using something called anchor text which is the blue highlighted words that you can click on. Look Naren, I can write an encyclopedia about this stuff, I suggest you to look something like SEO Book by Aaron Wall for search engine optimisation strategies.

Regards article marketing, never ever put in affiliate links. People do not usually click on something like www.naren.magneticsponsoring.com. Instead buy a domain and forward it to your affiliate link.

The blog can be about anything you want. It all depends on your market research and target market. If you want to do a blog about search engine optimisation, then do so. Ofcourse you can explain who you are and what you do. Check out my about section on my section for ideas.

I know this is no place to pick a fight but I do want to mention that it was just my opinion. Over the past 10 years I've ran my own business in one sort or another and even today after spending thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours handing out business cards, I've come to the conclusion that the pay off is never what you would imagine.

Business cards worked best when they were "new on the block". Now they are just old school and the problem is, it makes you look just like everyone else. Way to brand yourself. And since I live in the greater LA area, I know that even the dog walker and gardener has a business card. But let me ask you this... does anyone really care?

How many times have you dug up a business card you took from someone months ago and said "oh well... I don't know that person is anyway". That happens all the time and in a city where you would hope the millions of people buzzing around, that your card would stand a chance instead of landing on the sidewalk like the strip in vegas. I see it happen every day.

So yes, that's my opinion and as for giving someone advice on 250 cards or even using vista print doesn't help you case. That was some...

Just my opinion - that is rubbish advice.

Again, that was my opinion and because you want to share yours, I can respect that.

My advice to you is to get with someone that can give you a plan tailored to your specific situation. You will be running around like a headless chook if you try following some of the advice I have read in response to your questions.

I'm glad you've given so many better options for him. You really know how to add to the discussion and for that I can tell you are someone of great character.

I don't see a problem with any of the responses here and I'd like to say good job to everyone who did responded.

Except for you Dean... Just help the guy out next time. That's all that is requested.

You have gotten some great technical advice. In addition, I would suggest that you figure out what "your story" is [what makes you different, worth listening to, etc.] so you know what to write on your blog, etc.

In addition, as far as business cards go, I am of the opinion that it is ok to have either some very simple, elegant biz cards with just your contact info on them or go to the other extreme and get some absolutely killer, memorable biz cards that will make you stand out. I don't like the biz cards that look like an ad.

That being said, getting the killer biz cards can cost a bloody fortune [thousands of US $'s] and is premature until you have established yourself and your identity. Don't throw money out the window needlessly at the beginning. You can get some nice [engraved or simple letterpress is good] cards on heavy paper with your basic info without spending a fortune. Or, if your budget is very limited you can print them yourself on heavy card stock with an elegant font if you have a great printer [don't use that tear off stuff] or you can use zazzle or vista print if you don't. Make sure the stock is the best you can get, though.
