how effective are capture pages good/bad???

Postby Gerard Tweedie on Tue Nov 25, 2008 8:07 pm

Hi everyone,
I want some general feedback on capture pages good or bad. I haven't had many sign ups recently through my MS capture page so I decided to create my own capture page to see if it would be any better. Has anyone that has done this found better results. If you have a few minutes would you take a look at my new capture page and give me any criticisms or suggestions on how to improve it.
I WANT TO STATE RIGHT HERE THAT I AM NOT ADVERTISING I SIMPLY WANT SOME ADVICE.
If you do have a few spare moments will you please take a look and let me know. my page can be found at
http://www.freemlmsuccessrecipes.com/

I would very much appreciate any feedback

Yours thankfully

Hi Gerard

First off, well done on creatig your own site. Way to go.

Your capture page is missing the main ingredient however, which is a way to capture a prospect's information. At the moment, all you have is a site with MS banners. So this isn't really a 'capture' page.

There is nothing wrong with using your blog to try to sell MS, I have a banner on my own blog. However, your formatting isn't pretty or professional, so it certainly wouldn't appeal to me or convince me to click one of the banners.

you have a page on 'marketing yourself', yet there is nothing of YOU in the site. You are not marketing yourself as a 'leader' so it doesn't convince me that the information in the course is going to teach me how to do it.
Okay, I finally opened up.

Check out how I can help you.

Don,t take this the Wrong way because I know it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there like you have, but you have totally missed the Mark with your capture page. I applaude the effort, but its back to the drawing board. Use BN to get Ideas for capture pages.

Some elements that you need to have...
1. You need an Opt-in Form
2. You Need to offer a solution to a Problem
3. Give them Quality information

I am sure there are more things you need to have on it but you can Start with these.

Hi there,
I must applaud you for creating a lead capture page! I would never have never done it until I took part in MLM Traffic Formula mastermind. Here are some tips!

1. Know who your target audience is. If you try to talk to everyong you'll talk to noone. This can be tough to start with.

2. What problems are they looking for answers to, what keeps them awake at night etc. You'll want to create 3-5 benefits around this. This is the bribe that you'll use to entice them to give their info.

3. Create a headline that really grabs their attention and is probably your #1 benefit. You have just a few moments to make an impression or they are out of there. So it's got to deliver some punch. Create curiosity!

4. Test your lead capture page to see what works the best. That is why I like Instant MLM profits.
I learned that having my opt-in box above the fold produces the best results!

I'm going to give you a link to my lead capture page http://www.BreakthroughToWellness.com just so you have an example to model yours after. Plus this one had Raymond Fong's approval! :)

I hope this helps!

Gerard,

I have to agree with San and Marty. Your capture page needs a little work.

I think homemade capture pages are much more attractive. I get so sick of seeing the same old capture pages that "we" direct people to. Boring!

Seeing a unique capture page just feels more personal. I like the idea of someone working on each aspect of their marketing - putting in the time and effort to present themselves/their business.

I just got done taking a course on how to build your own capture pages and love the result. I just included the link to it on my signature. Check it out! It is one of four that I've made since this weekend. Once you know the basic principals of what a capture page should look like, you can really whip 'em out.

Keep working on it and best of luck,
Kaitlin Rose

Hi everyone,
I must say a massive thanks to eveyone for taking time out to have a look it is very much appreciated. I am new and there are still things i don't understand. Basically I am trying to promote MS but have nothing to offer of my own i.e reports or videos. How can i create a capture page that will in the end deliver the ms videos to the subscriber? :? this is probably a total rookie question but im dumbfounded.

Gerard,

The best way to do what you want is called "integration marketing."

Essentially, you build a nice capture page that markets YOU as a leader who will help someone with their MLM business. You mention a "free bonus" of the 7-video bootcamp.

Once someone opts into your list, you put the banner and/or a link to Magnetic Sponsoring on the "thank you" page they see after opting in... "Click here to get your free bonus!"

There are a lot of benefits to this, if you can pull it off correctly. The first is that your prospect buys into YOU before they are introduced to Mike... so, you get the credit for the introduction. Secondly, they are added to your list first, before opting into Magnetic, so you don't have to go add them by hand afterwards.

For a system that does this (albeit in a more sophisticated manner), check out the link in my signature.

Warm regards,
Jeff

Gerard,
Kudos to you for taking action and getting your "capture" page up; however, as already mentioned, it isn't "capturing" anything.
Aside from what everyone else has commented, I found the page hard to read - I think the bold blue font should be softened a little and probably made smaller. The title or first paragraph could have a bigger font (the way it is) but once you get into the body, I would go with a smaller font and not so bold.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
Take care. All the best.

Hi Gerard,

Well, I will come straight to the point.

1) Your capture page does not serve its purpose. Take your headline "MLM Problems? How to Explode Your Business!" , to which audience you are talking to? To those with mlm problems or those want to expand and explode their business?

2) Don't have report? Write one. Do you have MS? Do you understand it? Understand it and write what you understand that will help your target audience.

3) Re-design your font. As shared by Dianne, you may have a look at her font and the way, the copy is being written - on emotional to connect.

4) I know it need alot of courage to be on video. But at least do up a presentation like what mike did for his MS capture page. You can do it in power point and convert to video and upload.

That's all. Hope this help you.
