Hello All,
I am new to this excellent website. It is full of resources, tips and experienced people who are always ready to help. I really appreciate that.
I have recently joined Amway and have been looking around to find if I could find some help in how to start. I came across "Magnetic Sponsoring" in one of my searches and was wondering if I could use it to build my Anway business. I do not have any doubt in Magnetic Sponsoring but my question is mainly on Amway's terms and conditions.
I read somewhere that I cannot use online lead capture pages in Amway business and I cannot even advertise on internet or any forums. Is this true? Can we use Magnetic Sponsoring lead capture pages to capture leads for my Amway business?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Rgds,
- Chris.

Re: Magnetic Sponsoring for Amway
The are many companies who do not allow their distributors to create splash pages or capture pages in order to protect their brand and/or prevent false income or product claims to get spread around because the company is responsible for what their affiliates distributors do.
The idea behind Magnetic Sponsoring is to lead with a product or service to your target market - NOT your opportunity - so this should not present a challenge. Also, you can create "generic" splash pages that never mention Amway or any products and use that for lead generation.

Rob is right.
Using the Magnetic Sponsoring lead capture pages will not violate that particular aspect of the terms and conditions, because you are not using any of Amway's logos or material on the page. By setting up a lead capture page you are basically offering a service to people, they might not be interested in your primary business but it is up to you to figure out how to capitalize on the leads even when they say “no " to your primary.
The one part of the terms and conditions rule that you should be concerned with is the "no competition rule". As long as you are using Magnetic Sponsoring solely for the purpose of getting leads for Amway then you should be fine. You need to be careful if you decide to try and promote anything else to the leads or if you promote Magnetic Sponsoring to your downline. Amway takes that rule very seriously and I have personally seen them terminate the business of Diamonds because of it.
Amway picks and chooses the rules they want to enforce. They have one rule that states you can’t use any of their products in fundraisers, but as you listen to the tools (cd's) some of the diamonds recommend using the Ribbons Gift Card for fundraising.
I am not trying to discourage you. Amway is a phenomenal company to belong to, with a great compensation plan. I am just trying to keep you aware before you go and tell your downline about something and then get your business terminated. (happened to a friend of mine)

Had no problem with Amway because.....I'm leading with skills, solutions, knowledge based, without mention company or product name.
But still, I'd learn more, and see how it can happen for you. So before talking to downlines, see what can or can't be done.
I'm in UK and had no problems.
I'm going to give an example so you get how we did it...
Amway has hundreds of products, from health, vitamins etc..
Look at one of the products that you are passionate about. So, for example, you might be a sports dude and into health, so vitamins like nutrilite, drinks etc.
Now, instead of writing about them and mentioning the name of product; you invest in the knowledge of health, diet, knowledge.
And you write about that.
You can interview people who are professionals in health, fitness etc. Use that for articles, for pod cast and even for giving free information for people to optin.
Now, - this was done without lead capture pages, sales letters, etc...
Customers emailed me.
They needed knowledge on skin care due to an article they read.
I got them to speak to my wife who asked them questions about their problem.
They were so into her knowledge, and realised she knew what she's talking about. They wanted samples. She sent samples and...the prospect paid for them too and delivery.
They later ordered $250.000 on their first order.
All from one article which revealed knowing on how free radicals work etc etc. My wife is the expert in skin care. Me, at awe with her knowledge on the subject.
Now, here's the thing.
There was not one word mentioned about the product name, amway etc.
Imagine, when we got everything up. Jeesh, it be awesome.
There's also an interview I have mate, who ordered skin care, and I ask her how did she become a customer and I didn't write one word about amway, skin care products.
She replies....
"articles, posts in forums I read from yah and later the weekly newsletter, which lead to touching base by phone."
This was applied from Magnetic Sponsoring.
Now, I'm creating a nerve centre, which is totally different. So I'll hit it from different angles.
One from health skin care industry knowledge.
Other in our online university, revealing practical step by step building blogs, capture pages, video marketing, studio lightinng and effects for videos etc; because our team needs help in those areas too.
Still, I'd be careful because Amway is also fussy with training too. They want the distributors to be trained by their term, their tools, their training.
Amway is very strict and they can go heavy. It's right, that Diamonds have lost their businesses. They are a great company. It's just want to make sure you see clearly and study, learn how to get it sorted.
I haven't had trouble so far and end of day, I'm not worried either; as I'm growing my own assets too.

Do you mean that I should not promote any another MLM or Magnetic Sponsoring to anybody including my downlines? I agree with promoting other MLM but I think promoting Magnetic Sponsoring shouldn't be a problem as it is not a MLM. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Magnetic Sponsoring for Amway
It's not an MLM but it's a training material, seen by Amway.
Amway's policy, is all training needs to first be discussed if seperate from theirs. For example, no sponsor, can create an event or provide training, without first talking to Amway..
From Amway's website:
Why that tight.
Well, there was a lot of noise about tools, and people spending lots of money on books, cds, tool etc. This got the some heavy duty court battling involved.
After the courts proceedings was over, Amway took charge, and the system that was in UK which was BWW, left. So now, Amway provides the materials, etc.
Anything like events, books, cd, training - they say that it has to be talked about with them first.
How good is your relationship with Amway headquarters
Below is another clip from their website...
To be sure, find out what Amway's requirements are e.g. pick up phone and ask directly with headquarters.

From Amway's website:
Amway Business Owners must never charge you for books, tapes, CDs, website access or other types of published materials or services, and they are only permitted to promote Amway’s authorised materials. You can obtain a list of available materials – and their cost – from Amway.

Your “Sponsor” (the person who introduced you to Amway is part of a sales group which will also provide you with training and support. They are required to do this under their contracts with Amway. They may also organize meetings and other events to provide training and motivation, and they may charge a fee for you to participate. While this is not required by Amway, it is permitted provided that they have complied with Amway’s requirements relating to such activities.
To be sure, find out what Amway's requirements are e.g. pick up phone and ask directly with headquarters.

Re: Magnetic Sponsoring for Amway
I've spoken to multiple people in Amway's marketing/compliance group directly about Magnetic Sponsoring and other lead gen products like it. Someone that's involved in it that I know wanted me to ask them since I know about the techie details about online marketing.
Unfortunately, they don't want you to use it and they also mentioned that an IBO can risk losing their account if they did. It's easier to say no of course...especially if there's uncertainty in the what you want to do.
Also, the idea of turnkey affiliate landing pages came to mind...whether it be squeeze pages or product promotions that directly or indirectly promoted the opportunity or products (showing the brand name or promoting health products in general without evening mentioning the company or showing it's product pictures).
Those are allowed, but here's the problem...once approved, they could only be used for that single IBO and would have to be manually approved for every IBO that you recruited if they decided to use them.
That's a slow process (it took close to 2 months for them to even chat about the details of my request), that sucks, and they didn't have the staff to handle the scale for that process (at the time I spoke with them).
They really want you to do things their way and do the things that they've been doing for a long time...work with people in your area that you meet personally so that you can support them (obviously they don't understand yet that you can actually do that through the internet nowadays).
If you wanted to make this easier, all of your materials would have to be approved by an emerald if they were willing to do that for you (something that isn't part of their system).
BTW, I had this talk with them several months ago...not sure how much has changed.

Hi Adam,
Thanks a ton for such detailed explanation. So you mean that you do not use/promote the lead capture pages that you get from Magnetic Sponsoring(the one with the offer of 7 free videos) but instead use your own blogs/articles to get the leads?

Charles,
I understand that Lead capture pages/product articles etc with their brand name and product details are not allowed. Fair enough...
But coming to the Magnetic sponsoring lead capture pages (or the articles as mentioned by Adam), they are more generic. They do not mention the brand name anywhere. I feel, these should not be a problem at all. I am not an expert though. So just wanted to take the experts' thoughts. I know there are a number of experts like you on this forum who have tried all these
