Hey everyone,

I have like 5 more pages of MS to read and I'm probably going to read it again. The book itself was "magnetic" I couldn't stop reading.

Is also funny how I have even noticed a lot of people using mikes points in this book. Even when I spoke with Daegan he used the McDonald story briefly. I know why though, because its about following the success of others. Not only that but implementing a strategy that makes sense.

I really do want to eventually start a business. However, I want to think about where I would want to take it. I still want to read as much as I can to better understand the industry first. The reasons why I would like to do this is to learn the psychology of it all. Implement specific strategies that work better than others, and share that knowledge with others. I can see how powerful this is, and obviously I do see failure. However, failure is only the attempt at improving what it is that didn't work the first time. We as humans cannot simply go out there and expect fortunes. Some people may be lucky that they got a well paying job, or have been born with talent that come easy. I'm not one of those people but I love helping people and guiding them in the right direction. I feel I have learned a lot and am ahead of the game.

Though, right now school is very stressful, programming is hard. like I said though the more you do the better you become at it. I could babble more but i need to go. thanks everyone!

Theo I've noticed a trend in your posts here on BN.
It's almost like you're journaling. And that's a really powerful thing to do.
If I may I'd like to make a suggestion ...

As you create these posts and talk about your journey, collect these in your own swipe file.
In case you don't know, a swipe file is simply a collection of things you gather as reference material.
The term is used widely in the copywriting world, but is common in marketing as well.

Your swipe file would consist of things like headlines, sales pages, copy doodles, etc. Basically anything that caught your attention as "good material" that you can use as inspiration and guidance later when it comes time to create your own headlines, sales pages, etc.

The story you've been laying out here on BN as you make this journey of starting your own business, in my opinion, is perfect swipe material. A journal really, would be a more appropriate venue, but since you have these typed out already it would be very easy to copy&paste into a text file and save in a folder on your desktop for instance. I personally use a program called Evernote.

The key point here is developing and cultivating your story.
Those things that kept you glued to the book, the lessons you remember others telling, all of that comes from stories. And yours will be one of the most valuable assets you have down the road. Your story will impact people, motivate them, inspire them and help them find their way by learning from someone who has gone before them ... you.

Anyway, I just wanted to point that out and tell how cool it is to see you walk this out.

THanks for that brilliant idea. Never though about using my journal entries and such as a swipe file for my marketing later on.

I do recall having some really good journal entries written that I've read a couple months later and I actually feel that same feeling!!

Amazing idea! I've been thinking everyday about starting a business and really wanting to figure out what to do when summer hits. Schools is overwhelming, so I will read as much and keep learning from everyone here. Would you recommend me start a blog possibly?

I first read Magnetic Sponsoring in July 2009. I credit this book to transforming the way I think about online marketing. And I'm not just talking network marketing either. I'm talking about multiple streams of income, web businesses, infopreneuring, affiliate marketing and more.

I've probably read the book 10-20 times now and I've got to tell you that it gets better every time I read it.

Mike Dillard deserves huge sucess. He's personally helped more people achieve success than anyone I know.

This is a Great thread & I agree with Charles, I have read MS So many times & it does get better everytime.It helps your posture as well, when on the phone & talking with people. Personally I think it is a Must for Every Networker & am always amazed when people say they either don't want to buy it, or, have brought it and Not read & don't see why they should!!

One of the most frustrating tasks to perform on the internet is focusing in on one thing at a time.

I can't tell you the number of times I sat down at the computer with a particular objective and then wound up spending my time on something totally different and wasteful.
