Recruitment Question

Postby shifany roma on Mon Jul 13, 2009 1:11 am

Hi all
Quote:
I am halfway through Black Belt recruiting-so excuse me if my question is answered in the 2nd half of the course
One of the topics posed was that of the Compensation plan and I decided that I needed to take a longer look at mine to see where I was going in all of this. (Pros, cons, structure etc) What came out of it was that I really needed to have at least 75% of my business that were retail or wholesale buyers in order to build properly and I realised that I had been so focused on "getting my business builders" I had minimal customers to flesh out the plan(I sure hope this is making sense) I could then see that my posture re the builders was one of desperation and I didnt have the correct posture as is taught in BBR
What happened was I brought people in who were focused on the business-some didnt even buy product can u believe and of course when the business doesnt work for them in 10minutes because they have no connnection with the product, they leave(or at best limp along) MY FAULT for incorrectly bringing them into the business and not "interviewing" them to see if the business was right for them(and visaversa)
My next question is-what are folks doing to attract wholesale customers(keeping in mind company replicated sites and associated compliance issues?)
I feel this should be my focus and the business builders will come from my wholesale customer base.

From my personal experience ( I have taken BBR course) is that you will have much better success finding a "pure" business builder.

Your marketing system needs to weed out the "quick rich" and "easy money" candidates. If you had done this properly before even speaking with them you wouldn't have sponsored people who have no real motivation to build a business regardless if they use it or not.

I market to people who aren't even in my country who have little need for my business or product but they have connections in places where they can see the value.

I personally think you would be much better off targeting professionals vs tire kickers.

As long as your product is a high volume consumable or long term contract purchase there really is no need to find customers which then turn into business builders. It is much harder to get a customer in the mindset of business than it is for a business owner to use a product.

of course the connection to the product is important but that should have zero effect on building a business. sure it helps and might get you more motivated to sell more but seriously...

do you think vacuum salesmen LOVE vacuums? it's just a product and they see the opportunity to sell them.

I agree with Lawrence. There are plenty more "tire kickers" than serious people. Sometimes people do things in this business to just mess you up. They are the "Nayer-sayers" and they are rampant throughout the industry. There is a saying that if the passion for the product or service is there, then there should be some success. With most of the garbage out there scheming that you can make 7 figures from your sofa, this is the bad rap that we all have to live through. Find a "rain-maker" that is using the product or has used it and nurture those people. Go on Twitter or Facebook and ask the question to everyone: "have any of you tried XYZ lately?" Look for responses. Bob Griffin

I never lead with a product. mainly because...... I am not my product.

I lead with me and people follow me.

People don't want companies or products... they want solutions to their problems (money, health, tools....)

When you understand this, marketing comes much easier
