Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
Personally...
How Do People Become Wealthy?
Just what the heck is it that all millionaires have?
Why is it that only about one out of twenty people ever reach
that elusive dream of becoming "Financially Independent?"..You
know, able to completely retire and maintain their exact same
standard of living!..
Ask yourself right now. If you were forced to quit your present
job and had no means of income, could you still live in your own
home?..Drive your own car?..
Why is it that at high school graduation day, out of every hundred
students graduating at the same time, from the same school, all
going to about the same classes, all exposed to the same
opportunities, and offered the same rewards...there is such a vast
difference in what each is able to accomplish?..
WHy does one become happy, optimistic. and have a feeling of fulfilled
accomplishment, while most of the others become disenchanted and
discourage with a feeling of frustration and despair?..
This isn't a new question...but it's an IMPORTANT one!..
For years, theories have been presented, and concepts advanced by
psychologist, business consultants, and teachers, to explain why
some people are able to go through life from one level of success
to the next with what it seems like hardly any effort at all!..
They are constantly offering up new ideas and plans to explain why
it is that some people earn FIVE TIMES as much as the average, and
get there in half the time..
But in spite of all the help, good advice, sound theory, and "hot tips,"
we still see only about one out of twenty who makes it."
Actually, there is no subject in the entire business world today about
which more has been written or spoken in the past, than this particular
subject..
And so...what's the answer?..What do millionaires have?..What seperates
the one from the other nineteen?..I believe it's an abundance of one
simple ingredient..After much study and research and good old practical
experience, I definitely believe the answer lies within our ability
to understand "HUMAN NATURE"..
Without a doubt, our success depends on our ability to understand and
influence people, including ourselves..
Without question, the reason we see only about 5%, the successful few,
who are doing well, is because they're the ones who had the good sense
to put the most important ingredient of.."dealing with human nature" first..
Those 5% know that the answer is based on our ability to work effectively
with , and understand the feeling of the people we deal with on an everday
basis..
Now, before I go any further into our discussion of "people knowledge," let
me explain one point clearly..
I'm not dismissing the importance of education, training, and experience. Far
from it. I'm not discounting the value of skill, quality, and excellence in
every aspect of our prduct and service..
In fact, I'd go as far as to say that without an excellent product or
service or excellent skills we probably fail..A valuable, excellent product
or service is essential..
But our knowledge and skills in our chosen field, important as they are, are
not enough to put us into that special 5% category..The major extra is...our
ability to understand and deal with...
...HUMAN NATURE..
On that graduation day from high school, a student there may have been at the
top of his/her class--straight A's, a real "brain."
He or she may be a "walking encyclopedia" of technical knowledge. But, unless
they have "people knowledge" to go along with it, they'll remain in the
"mediocrity" forever..
They're the college professer who remains at the same University for 30 years
hanging on and hoping for tenure..they're the engineer frustrated beyond
description for 27 years waiting for that "big raise" that never comes.. They're
that lifelong politicion wondering why they can't win an election even though
they wear practical shoes or have grown a mustache..
Rememeber, to be good at what we do...but think PEOPLE!..

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
DO MLM's FAIL THAT ARE OFFERING STOCK OPTIONS????? We are NOT a "Fly By Night" company~
Stock Options
We are a company located in Orange County California that is in "Pre-Launch" and we are expecting a launch in July/August 2009. Our mother company is WEST CAP SECURITIES (.com if you want to search) We have a VERY generous compensation plan which includes a BMW car bonus. We are a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) company that specializes in "Media Advertising" with over 6 years and 8 Million dollars in R&D. We are located in US, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom. We have developed a "NEW" and "Patent Pending" Product that is UNLIKE anything you have EVER seen! If you would like to help us Promote and sell our product we would love to have you with us! There is no experience required, but the more you know, the more you will make. All Reps that get in NOW and start producing will qualify for "Stock Options" as well. Dont miss your chance and let ANOTHER great opportunity pass you by. I can only "LEAD YOU TO THE POND" my friends. God Bless~

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
Each has his own opinion on this subject based on their personal experiences and frame of reference to the industry.
The industry and its tolerance of the blatant success adverts is at fault in that they allow people to present NWM/MLM as easy success, big money quickly, little or no effort, all in one marketing and profit systems. Quite the contrary!
When a professional NWM/MLM'r presents their legitimate business as a business, requiring commitment, work, learning curve, and financial investment, the "prospect" would rather take the path of least resistance and greater perceived reward. They will gravitate and listen to the one promising easy success and riches.
On the other hand, say a serious prospect is located, the truth is shared and all things look promising. Getting them out of the dependency mentality is an obstacle ingrained in their employee mindset. They've never been responsible only to themselves, requiring personal initiative, action, planning, and accountability, without someone else "overseeing" their progress. Therefore, they become "dependent" independent contractors vs. true business owners.
My point being, this is a complex situation that can't be narrowed to black and white "5 reasons why" type of answer. Had it been this easy to answer, the industry would be tremendous in size and success and this obstacle would have been evaluated and overcome years ago.
Just my observations on this thread.

In the end there is only one reason people fail. They quit.

I would have to agree with this wholeheartedly. The only way to fail is to Quit.
Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
1- People are drived just for the get rich quick spirit.
2- People involve in MLM companies without understanding the numbers 1st.
3- People are not coachable
4- People don't know the real meaning of being a TEAM
5- Lack of passion, commiment, and vision.
Thanks

Why people fail in mlm?
Wrong expectations? yes
Lacking discipline and focus???
yes-yes-yes
All of that 'be your own boss' hype is catchy, but few were TRAINED to do this nor have the self-discipline to do so. There's a mountain of reasons why 'wrong expectations' is right on target, many of those created by the reps of the industry themselves...'get rich quick' and 'anyone can do it' and...yada, yada...
Regarding 'not enough belief in self' ... seems a pretty strong self-esteem at the outset often gets crushed by the onslaught of rejection
mostly due to old-school methods that were destined to fail. Damage to relationships with friends and family often requires a time span of recovery.
I've seen that happen all too often and wish them the strength to rebuild self-esteem ... and a business as well, in a very different way.

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
I agree with everything you said. Sometimes those are the factors, and sometimes its other things as well. It could be because of their upline, the companys system, their uplines system, their lack of personal development etc. I personally believe that with a system that is not based on the individual, anyone can have success.
