I heard a few people saying that adding a pop-up significantly increased their conversions,
Had been wondering how it's done so thanks for posting that Claire.
There seems to be some confusion on these forums between the confident, critical eye of genuine experience, and macho, insecure, pseudo-alpha posturing.
Perhaps the fact that it's being discussed here (even though it's wayyyyy of Claire's topic) will help to bring some light to the difference between them. Well done you guys who highlighted it in this comment thread.

NickKlopper wrote:AMEN! I can't believe the number of negative comments on a site that is supposed to be about sharing value and living up to a higher standard of business practice. I believe it's just a select few though.
Unfortunately, one of those select few (not going to name any names) has hundreds of posts and is very active but all the responses I've seen are negative and condescending. I understand that people have differing opinions on things, but if that's the case then you can at least frame your opinion in a respectful manner instead of lambasting others.
I love the original purpose of this thread, and it's something I was considering doing with my blog. I'm glad that you shared this with everyone Claire. I will watch your video right after this and see what kinds of results I can achieve using, hopefully, an exit pop up.
I'm also glad to see that people are willing to stick up for others that are just trying to share value and insights. So thank you to Claire, Lucien, Bryan, and all others of actually adhere to the higher standards Better Networker professes.
Cheers,

She didn't make a post about being a coach or trainer, and she also didn't ask anyone to critique her blog. I'm sure that we can all look at each others blogs and find something wrong with them. Before you go criticizing her, why don't you look at the things she's doing right. She has a professional blog that delivers good traffic rankings. Who cares what anyone thinks about her blog. That wasn't the point of this thread.
Stay on topic and only comment on the video that she made. Stop criticizing her please.
This thread is getting way out of hand.
Thank You!
Thanks Lucien,
To say the truth, I was quite intrigued by the fact that this is the ONLY place where I've been critisized as much...I'm in a lot of websites and social media websites sharing value with others without ever expecting something back, but here at BN I've been critisized waaaaay too much, considering I just upgraded to be able to share value with all of you here...
A thought crossed my mind...is this the way that a 'better networker' should react to value? Ditching others to make ourselves look better??
Even if a lot here seem to be on the lookout for something that they can 'attack', I do not intend to be scared off...
I truly believe in sharing value. I NEVER share anything prior to testing it myself and see if results are really obtained as stated, so to all my loyal followers, all I wanna say is that whatever I'm sharing with you guys has really worked for me.
When I first started out, I kept asking questions...and nobody answered! I made my way to success searching and trying out everything, researching every single thing which 'supposedly' could take me higher, and I succeeded through my own consistency and commitment.
I wanted to be 'different' from other gurus out there. I make sure I provide answers to ALL my followers whenever they want clarifications or have questions. So yes, I am a coach and I make sure I give priority to ALL my team members when they need help in anything. Starting out can be hard, especially when you're starting from scratch. Thus I make sure I make any networker's journey to success a much easier one by true guidance, something which is rarely done.
That said, I thank you again Lucien, for sticking out for me, even though we've never spoken before. You are a true example of a 'better networker', who is not there to bring everybody else down, but who is there to seek and acknowledge value.
Well, its mainly due to a lot of grizzle toothed veterans up here that classify pop ups as spam especially folks like me and James who have been on the internet for over 20 years before there was really an internet to begin with and we had to rub two sticks together to build a website...
For the record, my attitude towards pop ups are based upon the early ones that first came out that would just well....pop up out of nowhere and basically make you close it out with a dozen clicks and would even hold you to the page when you tried to close it.
But I checked out Claira's and saw that it really just fades in and exits quietly once you close it and doesn't come back when you reload the page. That's a pop up that I can live with (can't really even call what Claira has a popup because it didn't actually pop up, it faded in) and in fact I'm testing a similar one out myself on another site to see how effective it is.
Ultimately, I think it was the reference to the word "pop up" that got some people's nerves wound up. In any event, I'll use Claira's application for future projects as it appears to have a lot of merit in its functionability

The funny thing about this whole thread is that it continues to give Claire good exposure on Better Networker. Any of the negative comments, people just see right through them because her video was informative and good and everyone here knows it. Plus adding negative comments just helps Claire out. No one would have seen this thread if someone didn't post negative comments that were way off topic. So for Claire's sake I'm going to post another comment to keep showing the value that she's bringing. So Thanks again Claire for the great video! I look forward to seeing more.

Hi Claire,
I am aware of some very reputable sites that use pop ups in the manner you have shown, for example The Launch Coach. Thanks for a clear and informative video. Bollocks to your naysayers.

Claire,
Thank you for sharing your talent with pop ups. I realize that pop ups are not everyone's "cup of tea", I tend not to go for that style. I do see though how it can be effective and work for others.

WOW, is all I have to say about this thread... man did it get off target for awhile there.
I can say that my blog popup (light box actually) earned me $97 the first 4 minutes I had it active. I was a believer after that. Then I noticed the exact same thing that Clarie is saying...
Now I haven't gone into and real researching of my numbers, so I'm not going to claim I get 75% of my leads from there because that would send James into another tizzy, but I personally get MOST of my daily leads from my blog pop up now, than anywhere else.
Yes it may be annoying - I personally think it is, but so are those darn appearing "buy now" buttons - which I use too! (However I do put controls on my videos, because I just can't stand not being able to pause a video!)
The fact is that this thread is about blog pop ups and how to install one, and I personally have great results from mine!

I'm gonna install one later on today and test the results, I use a closing pop-up on other sites that works well, but I've always gone away from pop-overs due to how annoying they are - but Im willing to give it a week and see if it improves conversions!
