Are You Stuck In "Learning Mode"?

Postby Mike Morgan on Sun Dec 07, 2008 6:48 pm

I just read Mike Klingers new article about Robert Kiyosaki and his teachings about Network Marketing. I really like the article so check it out after you leave a post here. While leaving a comment, I noticed "--- I'm stuck in "learning mode" and I want to get in "apply mode". I often feel like I don't know "enough".

Does anybody else feel this way?

One of the biggest downfalls to new online marketers in they stay in the learning mode. It is extremely important that as soon as you learn something, you apply it. Every new valuable tactic/ technique that you learn needs to be tested to see if it resonates with your "Style". Some things work for some and some things don't. After you start to master one tactic, move on to the next. As time goes by you will have a whole arsenal of things that you have "mastered" and have the ability to create traffic/ prospects on demand.

Don't get me wrong, this industry has a HUGE learning curve that one must embrace. Noone, no matter what EVER needs to stop learning. With trends online moving faster than any of us can keep up with....noone will "know it all".

So keep learning and NEVER forget to apply new knowledge immediately.

Great Topic, I feel like I should be "doing more" but find myself reading, absorbing, searching and wanting to do more. I find myself wanting to do more but not having enough leads...I have spent the last week absorbed in what I can do better. Tomorrow is Monday and I know I have to get a move on so I have decided to focus on what I can do...The best rememdy is ACTION. Thanks for the post, now I know I'm not he only one "stuck".

Ooo, you hit the nail on the head with this topic! I too am absorbing all I can and the information seems overwhelming.
Everyone talks about the importance of attracting people to you and not selling, recruiting, etc. and I wholeheartedly agree. But I have not come across "How to apply what I've learned", yet.

I'm working with a budget of exactly zero dollars and cannot - won't buy another CD or ebook that tells me the same stuff I already know. Maybe it's worded a bit differently, but it's still the same.

Any help or suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

Just take you business one day at a time. Make yourself a list of all the things that you need to be doing everyday: article marketing, free classified, traffic exchanges, forum marketing, youtube, myspace, facebook, twitter....etc. And after you have the list. Make a time schedule where you can do all of those things everyday and stick to it. After time, you will have a huge network of people, tons of content on the internet, and traffic sources that last forever.

This is a great topic but I think after reading the posts here I see a pattern... I have learned two very simple musts if you are going to succeed in Network Marketing.
First, you have to take whatever knowledge you have and take massive and CONSISTANT action to attract partners. We all know this of coarse. The difference is where we are going and where we are looking for these partners. I have a scale that I use to qualify my prospects. I want to try and strictly talk to those who are already successful in business. Signing these types of people will allow that change you are seeking to take place much easier because if you are stuck training it is usually because the learning curve which is pretty large in this industry is being undertaken by those who have never had or run a business.
Second, if you do not have the correct up-team, it is very difficult to make that change. The support needed from above is crucial for several reasons. It gives you a mentor that is already doing your business. It gives you support in creating and keeping a system that is duplicatable. But most of all there is monetary interest above for your continued success. This allows for communication which is vital for anyone starting this business for the first time. If you have a good up-team, they are going to want to hear from you almost daily. They will want to keep you "plugged in" and moving in a positive direction. They are going to be trying to identify the leaders beneath them so they can have select individuals to spend their business time with. It becomes your responsibility to then do the same as you grow! The change happens when there is enough leaders below you that you have trained, with the help of your up line, for you to start working events and planning mixers. You will change when you are in front of a room, leading conference calls, leading webinars, etc...
I hope this helps... If you do not have a quality up line team that communicates daily, you may want to take a close look at what you are in. If you have been signed up and almost forgotten, it is very difficult to build a successful business all by yourself. If you want to talk more feel free to contact me and I will be able to go into detail and explain anything that may not be clear in this post!!! Thanks for everyones read!!!

Well Jeff,
Speaking for those who are "new beginners", all of what you just said is correct....no doubt.....but geez you listed 8 things and added etc. too! lol. It does make the process seem overwhelming. Mapping out everyday tasks is a good idea though, I tend to jump into a new day allowing the right things to be attracted to myself. I actually love doing it this way, but in the upcoming weeks I have to change that. In order to launch my product the correct way....I have to apply ALL the things I've learned and do them step by step. Monday will be _____ day, Tuesday used to ________, and so on. You get the picture. I know that traffic won't fall out of the sky, but that's probably my biggest concern....where the ENORMOUS amount of traffic is going to come from. I know that by utilizing
NumberOneGeneTeam wrote:article marketing, free classified, traffic exchanges, forum marketing, youtube, myspace, facebook, twitter....etc.

...I can gain traffic, backlinks, more traffic and possibly bookmarks, and that's great....and necessary. But we all want ENORMOUS traffic and there are more ways of getting them that are unknown, or tightly kept secret. I particularly like the idea of leveraging off of other people, but only in efforts to benefit both parties. That is where building relationships come in, because the already successful (or popular) marketer can do you a HUGE favor...and in turn do his list a HUGE favor by introducing them to you, further boosting their giving vibration. And Natalie you are right too.....ACTION is the best remedy. I Love BetterNetworker. Thanks for the comments so far guys.

Could you invite some more people to this topic?....PLEASE?...we could attract a TON of value!!

I get stuck in the learning mode for several days at a time, but I don't think that's all bad. We all have to keep ahead of the learning curve or we will fall behind. For myself, I feel I have to try and balance both the learning and the writing. The copy you write is your business, without it you have no business.

What seems to happen with me is, I learn something new Then I write about it and share it with others. That accomplishes two things. It reinforces in my own mind the things I have just learned and number two I keep building fresh new valuable content For my blog or my website.

To answer the question; Am I stuck in "Learning Mode"? The answer is yes, I feel that if I stop learning I will fall behind. I also feel that Balance is the key.

I tried to keep the examples above sorta the *FREE* marketing tactics that we should all be using. But if you want enormous amounts of traffic, i would suggest PPC and Coregistration. These two mediums could give you more traffic than most "New Beginners " could even begin to handle. Also when we focus on the free marketing methods it will really help you start building the skills that require you to do the things that you need to be doing with the enormous traffic. Everyone wants thousands of uniques every month, but in reality people need to focus on this. Generating say 5 leads a day. If you don't understand the basics and can't convert the minimal amount of traffic into sales and/or partners, it does no good to pay for Massive amounts of traffic. I hope that helps a little.

"Mindset" Mike aka "Cash Attraction"

What article by Mike Klingler about Robert Kiyosaki were you referring to? Perhaps you could include the link.

Here's the thing, and I agree with Grant on this, let yourself indulge in the learning. That's not a bad place to be unless you're putting tremendous about of stress and pressure on yourself to have HUGE results prematurely.

Give it time in the learning mode, and let things happen organically, naturally.

You're never going to know enough, but over time, you will put it together if you continue to learn.

Now the flip side to all this is it's possible that you need a guide, or a coach to help you follow a program to help you meet your goals. Why so many people don't do this I can't figure out? But the results you will achieve by following a marketing program with a specific beginning, middle and end along with a guide or coach to help you along the way will get you results much faster. Furthermore, you'll be able to apply what you are learning along the way.

It seems there are plenty of people around BN who could assist you with going from learning mode to learn and apply mode. I can certainly provide this for you, and/or I can direct you to several besides me who could.
