We were chatting on Facebook - this lady and I. Nothing serious but ultimately she couldn't wait to tell me how excited she was about this system she'd found and invite me to check it out.

(Lady):I am learning so much that I didn't know and I am getting customers just today I got 14 plus 3 of them upgraded Have you actually singed up and check them out?

Me:customers to where? (System) or your (company)?

Lady:both

Me:how many in each?

Note her answer was BOTH when I asked her if the customers were to the system or her primary. I wanted to find out where her focus was. Whether she was actually building her network marketing business. And I wanted to find out if honesty was a core part of her character.

That answer should have been easy. Of the 14 - x number were to the system and x number were to her primary. But she'd lied. Turns out none of the 14 signed up in her company and she wiggled and squirmed her way around the fact she hadn't been honest with me.

Ask the hard questions. Keep focused of getting the answers you want. She's one of many who think it's acceptable to (I'm being tactful here) avoid the truth and imply she's successfully building a network marketing business.

yes lack of integrity is a turn off for sure!..you can always tell by the approach of the person ..

This sounded like the lady was 'faking it until she was making it' type of routine. This is where the theory 'fake it until you make it' falls through. You can't fake it in business. You could see right through her when you asked some simple questions.
If she was honest from the start and asked you to check out the information, then I would at least check out the information and see if I could use it. Furthermore, I would introduce my site as well. A little networking doesn't hurt. :idea:

Been there and done that. I was just like that lady when I first got started. I would lie about how many people I had in my downline and also lie about how much I was making. The truth was I had nobody in my downline and I had not made a dime. I kept this charade going till I felt like crap due to my lies. People don't want to join with a liar they want to join someone who has honesty, integrity and pride in themselves and their company.

Adil, Mario and Donny. If people were really honest with themselves and cared to air it publically there would be a whole slew of comments on here.

We've all (well maybe not all) but when you first get online and you know nothing and someone you trust tells you to do something, you believe it and the ones who really want to make it work -do it !

Then you find out you've trusted the wrong person and that takes time to admit. Then there's the healing process, then you pick yourself up and do what I did - start making decisions with your brain instead of your need.

It's a process of growth and some grow slower than others. The people you hurt in that process are left in the dust behind you and that's painful to watch someone else go through that.
