Hi Again,
I'm wondering if most marketers here have a mentor? A person who holds you to goals, checks progress, shows you ways to improve, helps the positive mindset, and gives you new strategies and goals. Probably a person you would like to emulate.

Seems like it would be a must Jo have such a person in your business.

I know those with money have high dollar mentors. I also know it pays off in their business. Almost every successful person has someone. The more success often the higher dollar. But, what about the little guy, the newbie with a limited budget where do they turn?

I'm asking because I am seeking. So, who do you use and how did you find them?

Hi Stephen,

I recently purchased a semi mini course from successful internet marketer Willie crawford, purchased from over at the warrior forum.

Basically Willie Crawford has set a goal of making in access of $10,000,000 in 2012.

He actually said $100,000 in the course so as not to make it unbelieveable for the new person.

But what he is doing, and has done is, while building his businesses he is documenting eveything he is doing, that he finds is working today, and putting all the details in a pass word protected blog.

I have never met Mr Crawford, but I know he is very, very successful and to have him as a mentor probably is not on the cheap, so when he made this offer on the WF, I hurried up and got a board.

I have only read a copule of th epost and have found some valuable stuff with which to further my IM journey.

Maybe one day I will get to meet him in person and sit at his feet and learn.

You don't need big bucks to have a mentor.

My mentor is actually from my company, he is the top earner and his team (which I am in) has created more top earners and leaders than any other team in the company. It is nice to have a mentor to turn when you are confused, have questions or need some advice. I think a great leader/mentor won't be there for you 100% where he would do almost all the work for you and what I mean by that is they won't check up on you if you are doing your work and building your business, that is your job. If an upline is doing all the work for the newbie, they are just leading them to fail because that person is not developing thick skin which is required in a leader.

He doesn't have to be there 100% because he himself created a system where if you want to be in the top where he is at, you have to follow it. He has trainings, how to talk to people, where to find them, online marketing, and from experience it does work and it does duplicate. You just have to put effort in it, my mentor gives his team all the tools they need to succeed but it is up to the person to follow his lead and do what he does.

And yes he does help me, not by doing all the work. I have to find people to talk to and I take that person to a process (I follow his system) then if my prospect has questions or anything he doubts I simply 3 way call him to my sponsor and he does the talking and answering questions. Of course I had to learn from it because once he has done it a couple of times he expects the person to do what he has just taught them. That is how duplication and leadership develops.

Bu you don't need a mentor to succeed, he says it all the time, he actually succeeded by not having no one tell him what to do but if you have a mentor or sponsor that is already on the top it definitely helps a lot and it reduces the years of learning and building a business since the mentor teaches you and shows you the way.

Willie Crawford has been very successful for a lot of years. I private messaged with him several times on the WF a few years ago and learned a lot about affiliate marketing. Learning the business from him is a real privalege.

I totally agree. A baby sitter is not what a business person needs.

That's great you are able to learn and duplicate what a top sponsor in your company does. Showing and telling you how to do things and then expecting you to start doing them yourself is a big part of what mentoring is all about.

A person may not need a mentor but many top execs and CEOs of multi million dollar companies have them. These people are already successful yet they have them so they can better themselves and push their business further ahead.

I get my mentorship through books, mostly.

I also have my own Mastermind Team with other entrepreneurs; most of which are not in MLM.

We all share ideas and help each other.

One of my goals is to find a good MLM mentor in 2012. My sponsor is really good, so I might just ask her to mentor me.
