Twitter has been growing very fast
for the past few month and more and more
marketers are joining the Twitter rampage.

My question is this:

Do you send out an automatic Twitter Message to your new followers?

If yes: what software do you use and what the message says?

If no: why not?

If he or she is just number collector - I don't.
If he or she is interesting person - Yes.

You cand send an automatic welcome message to your followers with tweetlater .

But remember that you want to create a relashionship with people so don't write just "" hy, buy my stuff".
You cand also give them a gift for following you.

I do send out a welcome message using tweetlater, but its just to say hi and thanks for the follow. I don't send out a link to my site or anything. I feel like this is spam which I don't like to get so i don't want to do it myself. It is often your first contact with your new follower so you want to start off on the right foot. Therefore you should make it about them and not about you. That's just my opinion.

I also send a welcome message out to new followers using TweetLater.

They tend to be very ineffective because they are so often used for sending out links and spam that most people don't even check out their dms. If you do send one out be sure to make it personal and do not include a link to some opportunity or to your blog.

They are very personal if you use them correctly-send something that begs a response, something that will make the users tweet back to you.

The answer is NO. Any use of auto DM in a social network says you are clueless. I unfollow many and BLOCK a few every day who need to redo grade school marketing. Handing out 'free' anything to everyone is like forcing people to accept your cleaning their windshield. Any auto DM is like walking into a party and giving away key chains to your biz to anyone who pays you the least bit of attention. Most of them end up in a waste basket with your brand. Your good intentions are worthless if you do not know anything about the person. If you won't take the time to engage and discover who they are you are wasting your and their time. Following someone is tuning into a radio station, no more. The advantage is you may be worth following back. Auto DM with some nonsense thank you indicates you don't know what you have your hands on. If your intention is to find a dozen or a couple hundred people to IM every day the 'rules' you use for your group may be anything. If you're interested garnering a following of tens of thousands investigate those who are already there.

I do send a welcome message to all my followers but pay more attention to people that we have the common business interests.

Using tweetlater is a very good tool to do this and it is for FREE.

I just started doing this and generated two leads so far today from it.
