Enough with All This BMW Crap Already

Postby Allen Gregory on Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:16 am

This is a blatant attempt to slap some people around about this BMW promotion for MLSP. For those that don't know, there is a contest going on right now. It's a 90 day contest. It runs from September 15 - December 15. And the person who signs up the most people in MLSP wins the BMW or at least that's my understanding.

Look, I don't know who is going to understand this or who is going to agree with me and I really don't care. I'm sick and tired of being shoved into this frickin' distributor box. The problem with that box is that it's just too small. I'm 5' 11" 220 lbs. I can't fit in that box. And my headspace won't allow me to be there anyway.

What am I saying? I'm saying that we are a lot more than distributors and salespeople. We are solution providers. Albeit, on an individual basis but solution providers nonetheless. People buy into people. You can have the greatest system in the world but if you can't deliver the goods then you're still stuck right where you were before you had the system: NOWHERE.

MLM is about providing valuable solutions to other people's lives. If you're further along in the process than a new person then one of your first priorities should be to help that person that is following you. Not shove them into some program so you can make money and win a BMW.

I'm not saying that MLSP is a bad system or that the creators are bad guys. I like the system. I'm a member and user of the system. And I have no problem with the guys. I'm just a little upset with the hype behind the thing. Am I really going to bend over backwards to put people into this program because I have the chance to win a BMW....NO.

But the funny thing is this and I hope some of you get this: As marketers, shouldn't we know when we're being marketed to? I rest my case.

I wrote a blog post about this and I referenced one of the best leaders in the industry who just so happens to agree with me. This isn't even really my doing. It's me spreading the word about an opposite point of view from a big name that happens to be spot on. If you want to see my blog post, click ====> here
