Ever notice what we're being trained to do?

Postby Joyce Penner on Fri May 11, 2012 7:07 am

We're trained to empty someone's wallet BEFORE we introduce them to our network marketing business !
Then they have no money left to get involved in our MLM.

We sell (yes, we're selling) them to buy this, buy that and I recommend this, then as they get to know, like and trust us we introduce our primary method for long term, residual income. Now that they are broke !

What's up with that?

TRUE..but is not only network marketing. With affiliate marketing many people are used to buying product after product in the hopes they will ever make money.

Find any BIG GURU on clickbank or any other affiliate network and you will find their products with 27 upsells, with fancy pages showing people how they created the latest system that makes $300 per day and they are giving it to you for $27 because they want to help you.

So sad, how many people fall for this things. But yes I believe in network marketing we should concentrate less on forcing people to buy and actually teach them step-by-step what they need to do without spending $500 upfront.

Just my point of view..

Really? What do you have them buy before getting involved in your business?

I may recommend resources to help them succeed after they join, but I don't request purchases before that.

I am obviously missing something.

Of course, my funnels are very targeted to different audiences. Maybe that is why I don't have much pre-sells for those interested in joining my Network Marketing biz.

Oh Joyce - I love the tag line for your site (as seen in your signature).

The argument against MLSP continues lol

MLSP auto responded series does stink when used exactly as written. First trying to sell a bunch of affiliate stuff then at around the 7th to 8th message introducing your primary business. It's a bit backwards. It would be much better introducing your primary first and then selling the needed affiliate stuff, hosting, auto responder, etc. after they joined you. Also selling affiliate stuff to those who don't join you would be good.

I have seen several experienced MLSP user who add their own funnels and messages and do it right. For newbies it is backwards. Another problem is the capture pages. They're designed for PPC and newbies don't have a clue how to tes PPC correctly. They can end up wasting a lot of advertising money. This is something else that needs to ge taught upfront.

The quicker newbies gain knowledge the better off they will be when using any paid system. MLsP isn't necessarily a bad system it just takes some education to use properly.

oh, now I know what I am missing.

Joyce, you and Stephen, are using MLSP as your funnel.
That is the link in your signature. So it is MLSP that has the tag line I liked.

I have never used those pre-made funnels. I tend to forget they exist.

One thing they don't do is brand you.
I clicked on your and Stephen link and I got the same video.

I am sure it is effective, so many people use it; it must be.

I would agree with Stephen. Change your auto-responder up so that you ask if they are interested in your primary before exhausting them mentally and financially with all those affiliate offers.

MLSP must be making a bundle setting up the auto-responder that way.

Hi Betsy. No, you didn't click on an MLSP tagline in my signature but it is a system (Team Inc Pro) that introduces my primary company first and foremost. Completely opposite what everyone is being trained to do online right now. Systems that promote "get more leads so you can introduce others how to get more leads" is a, in my opinion, backwards way to do it.

Sounds like you are on the right track though Betsy ! Congratulations.

Just about every system that network marketers get involved with to build their MLM has the same type of funnel system. The whole concept is being taught in MLM online: Fill your funnel by enticing them with a free something, send them to your capture page, use your autoresponder (to upsell), build the relationship, then introduce to your primary network marketing company (after they are broke).

There wasn't a system anywhere (and I checked out quite a few) that didn't offer that variation of "help" to network marketers. Your funnel should look like "this" with your MLM always at the bottom.

Course you and I know that doesn't build your MLM efficiently or quickly !

Personally, I think the Mlsp is just a way to understand the funnel of network marketing. I personally didnt join because I understand marketing funnel and I can use it on home business. introducing people to systems like MLSP will only help your prospect understand more about marketing their business online which eventually entice them to your primary business.

I'm not supporting nore going against. i just think is a personal thing to decide what you want and how to get it.

Hi Joyce,

It appears that Team Pro Inc is taking the same approach as we did in 1996 with Dale Calvert and New Image International.

Although they had, at that time, one product, New Image International used a very unified, easy to duplicate training and marketing system, that is why New Image International went on to do $100 million dollars in sales.

They only marketed the product and company, IF the distributors tried to sell additional things it was more geared towards helping you to market New Image more effectively. Things like company specific cassettes tapes, postcards etc...

The only difference I see with the two approaches is that Team Pro Inc is user friendly for today's IM marketing envorionment.

NII and TP both promote the company they represent upfront instead of being a secret agent marketer like many seem to be today, scared to tell what compnay they are in, until after they build a relationship with you.

Relationships are for dating and getting married isn't it?

I believe we in MLM have gone the way of selling other stuff, like affiliate product's because most people are not joining the MLM companies, so might as well try to make some money some how, with affiliate sales. But how can they join if we don't tell them anything about the company we are in? :?

I'm very fortunate that I was taught the right way to do network marketing and while I've make many mistakes along the line. I think that some people are so desparate to make money that they will cut some corners and use very unethical tactics
