It would appear that the previous post is a benign and even friendly post, which is probably why nobody has complained about the links.

In my opinion, the post would be more sincere without the links. Why not just put them into the sig?

By conforming with the rules, readers will get a better sense that you are here for learning purposes. I say this in a general sense, to anyone preparing a post.

Phil - not sure if the post has been edited since you viewed it, but the only link I can see is to his own website and it's at the end of the post after his sig. (well, if initials count as a sig). So to my eyes, the post looks fine.
