I Almost Had Him/Her

Many of us have come across people who looked interested and talked with us. We run through our presentation of what we offer and they look very interested. However, when it comes time they just say no and leave. We start think that we almost had that person and just simply forget about that prospect.

However, nature has a way of explaining things to us. I like to think of fishing as a way to learn how to get people to follow us. We take our fishing pole and through the bait in the water and wait. Just like fishing we have to have the patients necessary in order to win.

I know fishermen have experienced the fish who acts like they are taking the bait. I know because I had fished with my dad before. An inexperienced fishermen would try and catch the fish as soon as the fish nibbles the bait. However, a fisherman must learn to wait for the bite and not the nibble. Sometimes it will take many nibbles before the fish decides to bite.

Many people I have heard tell me that they have seen people take 2 year before they joined their business. In network marketing we must learn to be patient in order to win.

Thanks for that post, Jared.
I have talked to plenty of people who sounded very interested and enthused to hear of some good news. They were given samples and tried the products. Still, they have not signed up and joined.
They say that patience is a virtue. I believe that Patience is a saint!
One of my customers signed on about three years later.
Planting the seed of thought is getting to be harder to grow in desert soil.
Time will only tell how lasting it will be!

Sometimes planting the seed is all we can do. Sometimes it is left up to time to work and hopefully work for us instead of against us.

Let me give out possibly the most valuable piece of advice I could give anyone...Many know me as a marketer but I am simply a master of my craft and a salesman first...What I am going to share with you is what I teach my clients in our prospecting training...

Fact:
They will not buy your product today
They will not trust you today
They know nothing about your company today
They don't believe in themselves today
They will do their due diligence today

So many marketers realize this, and say ok well maybe tomorrow, they will call me....free trials don't work, free does not create commitment, don't use patience as an excuse for you not closing them, and I see the analogy with fishing, but it just doesn't apply, sure your sponsors will call it a numbers game...but closers will always close period, A YES or A NO is a close no matter how you look at it, you close the door and keep on trucking...

Obviously people want more YES than NO...so let's make it happen....

If you happen to be involved with a company that pays you a strong commissions lets say $250 or more per enrollment or happen to be involved with a high ticket item company like LPU, Carbon Copy, WMI, AMI, yada yada......use your affiliate sign up as a tool....

You see many people will be apprehensive to give $1,000.00 to a stranger...so beat them to it, every company has an affiliate enrollment program, something like $49.99 (if they don't your program is illegal)

This is what I would say and 7 times out of 10...they would bite....

"John I know you enjoyed the company presentation, I know you understand how we get paid, and surely how this could all add up, but tonight isn't about you buying the product or me earning a commission, tonight is about you feeling confident about our opportunity, now you deserve to do your due diligence and evaluate our company, so my advice to you is to gain a better perspective...to evaluate our company from the inside out as opposed to the outside in...as an affiliate or just $49.99 you will gain access to our company training calls, our fresh start calls, our marketing calls, you will gain access to many of our marketing tools, you will get a chance to meet many more people having incredible success with our company...consider it a test drive, and see for yourself how much you are truly getting before you commit yourself 100%"

So what does the above do ?
It locks the prospect in your organization because frankly if you don't close them and they start sponsor shopping "SOMEONE ELSE WILL" wether in your company or outside...

It allows your prospect to be exposed to all the positive that is associated with your company while listening on the calls "they are designed this way for a reason guys"...

It opens the door to followups...you see when they are a $49.99 associate, the followup call is something they look forward to, it gives them a sense that you are pro-active in their success in your company...followups with non-associates just simply feel like sales calls period

Makes your prospect feel like you are not in it just to "scam" them.. trust me everyone, thinks they will be scammed online...

With this method you are truly building your sales funnel, playing phone tag or "thinking" they might be interested in your opportunity, is not building a sales funnel, it's simply speculating and dragging the sales process out....But when they are an associate they are locked in, gaining a different perspective on your opportunity, a positive one...and building more trust with you...

You will find that after a couple of days exposed to your companies culture, they have done enough due diligence to feel comfortable getting started...or saying it's not for me..... either way this method increases the likely hood of commissions by over 400%...I've made a lot of money early on in this decade using this method...

It amazes me how some sponsors tend to overlook the power of just signing them up, it really makes you look less desperate, and even more trust worthy....but the fact is everyone is going in for the kill, for that big pay day, right now....desperate to bring home some money...It doesn't work this way guys....

If you are closing 3 out of 100 prospects ...YOU HAVE A PROBLEM....this could be your answer

Great analogy, and its all about actually building relationships. if we are too soon at the presentation, they know that you didn't really care about who they are, and what their needs and wants are.
