I got a big problem on my hands

Postby bruce washington on Sat May 26, 2012 8:34 pm

hi my name is bruce and ive been reading topics off this site and you guys know what you're talking about,........... so heres my problem i have a friend thats been in organo gold for several months and he wants me to join him because ive been reading up on mike dillards stuff so he knows ill be an asset,

heres the thing organo gold is coffee, well healthy coffee but there is no complete target market for this product theres nobody that buys this product the only people buying this product or the networkers now i can attract other networkers to the networking business side of it, but i can't find anyone who just wants to buy the product, now i dont want to be in a business where you just can't sell the product , i wouldn't feel right attracting other networkers to the business if i can't sell the product and i coudn't give them advice on selling this product, people i have talk to in the company say people who drink coffee they don't give me no specifics about nich or ideal customer, they just say people who drink coffee

so my thing is, am i wrong because i havn't returned my friend calls ,im still debating whether this is a right company for me, I just don't wont to be in a business just to get networkers i wouldn't feel right if i can't sell this product or teach them to sell the product that way, if you don't get leads you still get paid now do i try to sell it at doughnut shops or........ i don't know guys any tips on what i should do.

Why not just simply explain it to your friend as you have done it here, if they are a true friend, they shouldn't get upset with you. ;)

Also, I wouldn't market any opportunity that I do not have much or any belief in.

Your lack of passion or belief will come across to prospects when you try to talk to them about the opportunity.

Well Bruce, you have a lot more research to do. Finding your target market, mainly the very ones who pacificly uses the products every day. You can start with co-workers at the coffee machine during breaks. Also finding your 'why' in promoting this product. Do you use this product as much as you are promoting the product. If you are not an avid coffee drinker it would be harder to sell someone of its benefits to buy from you. Talk to the people who buys the office coffee and see whether it would be cheaper to go through you instead of the places where they usually buys their coffee supply.
If this is something you like doing, talking to people, finding out what they like, etc. There's great opportunities in this business. You truly have to love it to keep doing it because you love the products.

Agreed. Just tell him you looked at it, and you don't think it's right for you.
1. if you don't believe in the product, and it's not something that can necessarily "stand alone" in the marketplace, it may not be for your. Try the product? like it? How do you want to build? If you want retail sales for the immediate income? Unless you are a Super Salesman, those you talk to will pick up on a lack of conviction.
2. If your buddy is an Amateur who's trying to "get" you, he'll be upset and argue and try to convince you and get his feelings hurt. If he's a PRO, he'll understand that some businesses work for some people and this isn't just right for you.

I would definitely have to agree with Willie.

It's important that whatever product you sell, is something you yourself are passionate about.
If not, it will be easy to read and therefore not convince anyone.

You want to stand behind a company that you do not question and have no doubt, a company
you imagine yourself being happy with for the long run.

This is an older topic and I don't usually post a reply in older topics. I found it by searching Organo Gold.

Here's what strikes me, the product is coffee and tea. The target market is about 80% of the US population and its the same for other parts of the world. The trend today is a "healthy lifestyle", weight loss etc.. That makes the target market huge because the base product is consumed daily and the OG product ads a healthy twist. People love it once they try it and non coffee drinkers like the tea. It fits well with the healthy living desires people look for.

With all that said, yes and no is the answer to promoting it the local coffee shop. I wouldn't do it but I can certainly discuss the features of healthy coffee with people I know who frequent coffee shops, especially high dollar coffee shops. Like any product and opportunity you have to learn about the people you talk with. In this case it's simple, do they drink coffee or tea, what's their favorite brand etc. it's actually a much easier sell because of the desire and benefits.

But yea, and though it wasn't the question, if you don't have a passion or better said a conviction about a product don't try to sell it. You'll end up quitting.
