I would say that the best offline marketing is "talking to people" then you can leave them your business card or flyer.

Looks like "talking to people" is creeping in as a popular answer for offline marketing.

If you find that your business begins to slow down:
Talk

People
So What Do You Do Specifically?
At least in my experience "talking to people" really isn't effective.
I can "talk" to people all day and not get anywhere.
What are you utilizing specifically in the offline world, such as a tool, biz cards, etc. to bring that conversation to the next stage of engagement like an invitation to a meeting, conference call, etc?
On A Side Note:
People we meet casually, at social events, in the market place, local events, etc. all encompass a pool of people in "real life" (i.e. offline) that we can create a connection with, cultivate a relationship with and share what we do.
The same applies to the online world and actually bridges a gap between the two worlds.
People you meet on Facebook, forums, your blog, social networks etc., all require the same relationship dynamic. It may be more reliant on technology with email, video, chat, etc. But they are (or should be considered) the same.
Within this topic of offline methods ...
I'm curious how many of you are utilizing things like business cards to direct people to a landing page or offer on the internet and combining the two to leverage both worlds for maximum effectiveness and efficiency for your business?

I'm going to have some fun with drop cards soon.
That's awesome John.
Do you have a special business card or brochure or something that you give them?
Exchange numbers and email?
What's your process with the people you're meeting?
What's your plan with the drop cards?
Do you have a specific message or call to action you're using?
In all of these are you directing people to get online or do you do the follow-up etc. over the phone etc?
Hey Richard,
Great questions. I got a drop card design from leaders in my business who did a recorded training on this among many things.
The call to action is in part a "take-away", ie. If you don't believe it don't call. I plan to drop them in busy places, in motivational books in bookstores, direct them to my number. This way I could pre-qualify them, before putting them on a webinar.
I've been using a straightfwd, Todd Falcone opener, eg. "...are you open ...", and giving interested folks a webinar, email & phone number.
I'm open to suggestions to improve my law of averages. Let me know.
Thanks,
John
Usually without pre-qualification, people don't show up!

Here's a great resource...
VistaPrint move over .... www.GotPrint.com is here!
Juts found these guys and they are the BOMB!
example:
1000 fully custom business cards (your design uploaded)
14pt heavy card stock
full color both sides
UV coating both sides
$13.55 + S&H
how did that commercial go ... WOW, thats a low price!
My buddy just got his order and showed them to me and they are super high quality cards.
I've paid up to $150+ for cards this quality with full color front and back.
Enjoy
