Dan,
So, does that mean I'm not a "TRUE" phone professional?

From my perspective being professional means optimizing for best results (dollars per hour worked), even if I don't appear to be as "cool" in the process.
You were quoting stats earlier so I looked up my last 4 hours of work...500 numbers dialed, 394 emails sent out, 87 live answers, and 117 voice messages....Out of that I have opened up 12 serious propects. That to me is they have sent back the request form from my landing site.
So, of 87 lives answers, you had 12 take action. 13%. That is, indeed, better than I could reasonably expect from voice broadcasting. But, look at the time invested. 4 hours. Do you know how many leads (opt-ins) I could generate in 4 hours? Or, conversely, how little time it would take me to generate 12 leads?
Plus, duplication is a big factor.
When I sponsor someone onto my team and are ready to start calling leads, I can give them EVERYTHING, pre-recorded and ready to go. They don't have to be afraid to pick up the phone. And, psychologically, it's much easier for a new networker to return someone's request for info than it is to cold call.
On the flip side, when it's time for you to duplicate, you have to teach each new person to be as good as you on the phone. It can be done, but it's a long journey...
Ultimately, I value, and work to consistently improve, my ability to connect and build rapport with people on the phone. I don't underestimate the value of that skill. But, I save those efforts for leads that are worth my time.
Good luck in what you do.
Thanks. You, too!
Oh yeah the Sept. thing being a scare tactic....The DNC list wasn't going to happen either....changed a lot of lives.
I'm not saying it won't happen... I'm saying people are misinterpreting what "it" is.
All the new law says is: In order to make a pre-recorded call to consumers, you need prior consent to receive such calls.
Well, notice it says "consumer"... the new law doesn't apply to B2B calls. At all. That leaves a HUGE gap.
In essence, the only people who will be impacted are those using genealogy lists, outdated bizop leads, etc. It will impact some, but not me.
Hope this is helpful,
Jeff
P.S. I'm curious, Dan... have you tried voice broadcasting, before?
