I have to laugh so many are doing this that now its not unique and frankly it makes you look kind of silly when speaking to other Network Marketers.
I have had at least 10 people I thought were fairly successful approach me in a Facebook chat with that as their opening line..
No questions
No how are you doing
Just that line
What do you think, washed up line, need a new one?

I agree 100% with this..I am SHOCKED at how many people don't connect with you on facebook linked in or twitter anymore they simply ask are you open to?????? or what about the email with CHECK OUT this link.
My thing is if you were NOT trained on the SIMPLE stuff how can you help me succeed?? Or maybe I am happy where I am (AND I AM).
It has become a shark attack instead of really getting to know others. Everyone is focused on how QUICKLY can they sign you and not how can they HELP you succeed.
Thank God for old school manners they go a long way

Hi Lynda. There are 97% (or whatever the actual number is) of people who are not making any money in their MLM. Many are completely frustrated and "Are you open to looking at ........" IS a polite way of offering the solution to their problem. If they are not open, if they want to stay at their current level of frustration, nothing lost, nothing gained by either party.
So if your focus is on building an MLM, you have a system that is going to build your network marketing company, your comp plan is designed to help the newcomers and the elite, your team is extraordinaire, why wouldn't you ask everyone "Are you open?" Most are frustrated with not making MLM money and are struggling with at least one or maybe all of those points.
Offline it's a given. Listening to someone about their health complaints, "are you open to trying something that might change that?", is a method of again, opening up the conversation without using any type of high pressure sales techniques.
I would never recommend to stop using the polite "Are you open" question before they send a link or pick up the phone. There's nothing better to replace it with for those whose focus is on building a business in network marketing.
Which I think most of us came online to do, before we got off on this tangent of focusing on making friends and somehow that activity would build our business for us.
